The amount of lightheartedness in this topic is disturbing...saying that children aborted is OK because they go to heaven and avoid trouble in this life is a copy out, and it doesn't take into consideration the laws we must obey, even those under grace, concerning sin. If it was better to die before birth to go to heaven, than why allow anyone to be born? Because God has called us to be fruitful and multiply. Why not kill the unborn children by aborting them? Because we would be killing unborn children by aborting them, and the bible tells us not to murder, and that is exactly what that is. Yes, God called Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, but by God's sovereignty, he stopped Abraham before he did it. And even at that, God didn't tell Abraham to needlessly kill his son, he told him to SACRIFICE him to God. God doesn't call us to sacrifice our unborn children to him by death. Remember the pharaoh in Egypt in the time of the israelites enslavement? He was murdering babies to keep the israelite nation from growing too big. Those babies went to heaven, but the bible doesn't commend him for that, it condemns him for it. And let's be honest and transparent. Those parents who make the decision to abort their baby are not doing it to give them a better life in heaven or any of those other reasons., tho they may tell themselves those lies. They are doing it for this reason alone: because of sinful selfishness that cares more about their agenda and their life and not about taking responsibility for their actions and for their child whom God saw fit to BLESS them with. And for those who are pregnant because of rape, my heart goes out to you, but God still chose to place that child's life in your hands and make something beautiful from something ugly, that is, the sin of rape. And it is your responsibility to raise that child to bless the Lord and give thanks for the life that came from sin.
