Not in every other area. For example, 17 year olds can enlist in the armed forces with parental consent and a high school diploma. Age of consent, which legally is closely related to marriage age, is below 18 in most of the world.And this view implies that 16 and 17 year olds are capable of making life altering decisions like getting married while, in every.other.area. of society they don't have that perception.
I have a different feeling. This is the law's provision that children of teenage girls who get pregnant still have the opportunity to grow up with a mother and a father.My personal feeling is likely that a HUUUUUUUUGE majority of these child marriages are happenning in kinda messed up religious sects. But I have no proof of that. I mean, I guess I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even register their marriages with local authorities.
