So in Revelation we not only have the requirement for blood to overcome the devil, but also "the word of their testimony".

And in the gospels we have water and Spirit, or water and fire, as well as in Moses.

But how does "word of their testimony" become water, or vice versa?

A person will not testify, unless he is convinced, or convicted. Peter denied Christ three times, until he couldn't bear it.

The waters overcame him.

Hey, for your post, it would be nice to have some verses here, so we may all study them in order to form a good response. :) Just saying, as a friend.

But I will give you this:

Matthew 26:75

And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

Yeah, the word for chicken is a cuss word, as it also means a guy part. :) I remember that verse.

Some might think that Peter was a chicken for not daring to speak to a little girl. But I think we have to remember that Peter was the one with the most zeal. So God humbled him.

It is good that God humbled Peter. Humility is a fruit of the Spirit, if I am not mistaken.

Galatians 5:22-23: “The Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self-control.”

Psalms 105:1-2
Give praise to the Lord, proclaim His name, make known among the nations what He has done.
Sing to Him, sing praise to Him. Tell of His wonderful acts.

Encourage others to the building of faith.

Hebrews 10:22
Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings
having our hearts sprinkled from a guilty conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

The waters overcame him.
We overcome Satan by proclaiming the facts about Christ. It must be spoken and spoken often.

Jesus is Lord is the fact.
Jesus has overcome the Devil is a fact.
The word of our testimony is not to argue with Satan but to proclaim the truthful facts about Christ.

We are crucified with Christ - this is another fact.
That we were buried with Christ and raised with Christ - more facts.
The word of our testimony is beyond theological reasoning with the accuser. But to proclaim the truths as they are.
Facts come first. Feeling and experience often follow the proclamation of the truth of the gospel.

We should tell Satan often that his miserable destiny is the lake of fire forever. This is a FACT.
Christ has totally defeated Satan - FACT of this universe we preach to Satan and his hosts.
We believe. Therefore we SPEAK. We speak and praise our way into the kingdom.

And having the same spirit of faith according to that which is written, “I believed, therefore I spoke,” we also believe, therefore we also speak, (2 Cor. 4:13)

I would like to share a scripture song on Revelation 12:10,11.

How about Ephesians 5:25-26,
"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,"

Water & Word.
I like to sing that verse too. Easy to learn. Sing along.

Hold up guys, you're not getting the point. Peter, despite his zeal, was not able to procliam the word or testify. Not until God convicted him. This is the water of life. Water was present during his act of creation, and also when he cleansed the world of sin and sinful natures. While the Word is the truth and true God, when we experience his holiness, even so much as a crumb, we have the opportunity to have our sins forgiven.

When the woman met Jesus at the well, she met only conviction. She will not thirst again.

We've been feeding off of his boldness in his messages and epistles for some 20 centuries.

How would you make the point you have with somewhat less allegorical references?
Is that possible for you?

I mean with (for the moment) less reference to water or even blood, how could you communicate your point ?

Well Revelation 22:14 is translated differently. We either wash our robes, or "do his commandments", which I think, are equally ambiguous.

But I think we understand that the purpose of the commandments is to give us the foundation we need to receive the Spirit of God, just like the water allows us to enter the city by the gates. That being said, Christ talked about the need for repentance on all levels, just like one isn't done washing one's robes, until all is clean. Or like those who came to the church, but held back - were not entirely clean.

If I were to decode the twelve gates of New Jerusalem, I cannot think of anything else but the 12 meridians, which then, the water energises and revitalizes. Just like Jesus replaced the fallen disciple, or that he only told the truth to them. Either that or it is the Apostolic Succession, however that doesn't save anyone.

Then, taking other images into account, such as the serpent on the pole, or his death at 33 at the Place of the Skull, etc, we come to the same conclusion. The energizing and quickening of the energy body (subconscious, emotional body).
