My latest blog is up and it is addressing abuse in the church, the SBC, Dr. Patterson and Beth Moore.
The Inappropriate Pastor's Wife -
Hi
There is nothing inappropriate about what you wrote or said but rather that you are owed many apologies and should be thanked for your sacrifice, patience, and unconditional nature.
I think it is totally inappropriate and unfair to place unethical expectations, double standard’s, and unwanted pressure on any person or couple.
No one would volunteer or want that role as it would easily crush, subdue, and overwhelm a person’s self-esteem, relationships and family etc.
I think you are very brave and courageous to expose the abuse, pain, and suffering that can happen behind the scenes to couples and individuals involved in Ministry.
I also think it is hypocritical and offensive for the leadership to put on an act for the congregation and for the leadership and congregation to mistreat their staff.
Maybe the title should be changed to the inappropriate behaviour and conduct of the NT oversight and its believers.
I understand that you don’t want to make waves or rock the boat, but appropriate honest feedback to the oversight seems to be a solution to move on and avoid going through the same process each time.
Maybe consider just being part of another congregation and rebuilding your lives and asking God to provide for your needs while he guides and directs yous.
Being a Christian is hard enough, let alone being involved in Ministry and having to be subject to all that abuse and suffering.
I hope you find the peace and harmony you both deserve.
May God grant you wisdom and serenity in your journey as you get to know and become more like him.
Peace
