Disclaimer: My apologies if this topic was covered before as I did not do a search. If it is then I'll retract this post. I was inspired from another thread on here talking about the reality of hell. This thread is intended to take another slant on that. Here goes:

There are a number of youtube videos out, and I'll name, Sid Roth and the Supernatural in the mix as he often interviews people who have had these visions.

When you look at these videos you get the impression that nobody is really safe from hell, even if they are born-again or have received Jesus. In other words, after looking at these videos, it seems that atheists are better off because at least they can enjoy this life without worrying about going to hell, while Christians worry about it and end up there anyway.

Here are some of the belief systems of these videos:
1) One lady ended up in hell because Jesus did not like how her facebook post was received by someone reading it. He said there was nothing wrong with her post and she meant well. But the other person received it wrong. Therefore, she went to hell for eternity. (random youtube testimony)
2) Another person ended up in hell because they did not pay a full 10% of their gross pay in tithes. (ie my mom would end up there if that were the case!).
(heard on youtube from a girl who claimed to be dead for 48 hours or so and then rise up from the dead)
3) A boy ended up in hell because they fapped too much and Jesus did not like that. (from a google search - not from youtube)
4) A beggar stole something from someone. In the process he got a wound that got infected. He went to the Christians to pray for God for mercy. However, God did not answer their prayers and condemned that poor beggar to hell and the devils escorted him away. (From book, "Visions Beyond the Veil", not youtube)

In the comment section you have Christians praising how awesome God is and how glad that these types of people and others ended up in hell.

I mean you look at some of the reasons that people have ended up in hell, and I find it hard to reconcile that God is actually good. What are your thoughts about these types of videos.
In these examples is that how you actually picture God? If He's really like that is anyone safe as it seems your salvation is only as good as your last sin and if you are able to confess that sin before you died, and if God decides whether or not to actually forgive you if you do, which in all likelihood, He would rather not according to these types of videos? Am I mischaracterizing these videos?

There is about a 60% rate of mentally ill on the internet.

The internet does seem to attract people who are broken in some way.

But let me be a bit serious about this. I find that if I go off in one tangent of sin, lets say I re-open a secret sin that I had previously repented of, or enjoy that type of sin too much, then I tend to "attract" those types of videos, or they have more of a penetrating effect than if I'm living straight and it's just becomes an argument. I believe the Lord can lead someone (or the devil may torment someone mentally, however you read it) to look at these videos. After all, this is a modern age of the internet, and God could use the internet, and random videos on the internet to reach people.

Of course, there is a potential for some people to receive these videos in the wrong way, (ie leading them to doubt their salvation or the efficacy of the blood of Jesus, lead to a state of confusion and doubt about their salvation, etc...). However, the vast majority of people who probably see the videos and take it the right way might take their walk with the Lord more seriously if they are lukewarm Christians or backslidden, as it could serve to be a wake-up call. You can't be lukewarm or into a secret sin and feel comfortable after looking at such a video as it at least seeds doubt into your mind about where you actually stand with God and where your are heading for eternity if you don't get it right.

It's always a heart issue. Always. These behaviors represent a condition of the heart. So conversely to this, if your posture is humility, then you will not really have the problem of whether or not you go to hell. Example:

Luke 17:7–10 ESV
““Will any one of you who has a servant plowing or keeping sheep say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and recline at table’? Will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare supper for me, and dress properly, and serve me while I eat and drink, and afterward you will eat and drink’? Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded? So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.’””

So it is pride that keeps people from heaven, not their behavior. If you value something above your value of Christ, then IDK what gives you the idea you can make it into heaven.

I've had several supernatural experiences I can't explain. Take for example that I had a dream that I "saw" hell and what it was like. I didn't suffer from hell but I certainly got a good enough look that made me realize that no one wants to go there. I also recently had a dream of my first day of heaven. Further, I think it is not wise to discount the experiences of others when they say they experience something supernatural. Do I believe aliens exist? I probably believe they are some manifestation of demons of some sort, but I'd say something definitely happened to these people who experience things like this. Hugh Ross has written on this.

Finally, the idea of hell seems "fresh" in atheists' minds as they tend to believe they are going to hell even when they don't even believe in God (no visions or dreams are needed for this sort of reality).

If they are worried about going there then why aren't they repenting and turning to Jesus?

Much like the paranoia after Dante's Inferno

There has been "fire-less" hell testimonies as well. (ie where people's damnation was assigned to a rotting type of darkness but not under fire). Some of these testimonies included a lady who didn't take every opportunity she had to reach the lost and witness for Jesus. This is despite the fact she walked holy, only listened to Christian music & content, but did not do her outmost to reach people for Jesus.
In the book Visions Beyond the Veil, this could be the place of people who go to church but are not productive or gossip about other people.

You said you did not suffer in hell. Is that to presume you went to a "fire-less" hell because your sins did not warrant a damnation with fire and burning, but in a non-suffering hell that you did not want to end up there? What type of sin was the occasion of this dream? A lack of zeal or passion to do God's will? Not witnessing to enough souls?

I'm not the one who said they were mentally ill. I merely found that comment to be funny although I responded to that comment in a serious tone.

I totally believe that I'm protected from them if I plead the blood of Jesus or call on Jesus if they attack me. At the end of the day, whether they are real or not, demons or not, is totally irrelevant. You just want to know you can get rid of them by calling on Jesus and its all good. You need more than tin foil hats. Although there are testimonies where people have fired guns or put up a strong resistance and averted an abduction. You also have to worry about implanted chips that they might zap on people. I've seen these implants on videos and how pleading the blood of Jesus over them was effective in having them surgically removed (the implants would actually move-away when you try to remove them, etc...). Another reason to live straight with the Lord because when these buggers attack, you want to confidently call on Jesus.

I feel spaced out after writing that paragraph. It's weird, like a light-headed sensation. I wonder if they are monitoring my posts? Crazy.

I watch Sid Roth frequently. I have not seen the videos you speak of, but Sid has had questionable quests. I would recommend allowing your faith and the promises of scriptures to bring you comfort and peace.

"Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. "

These are guest he may bring in occasionally. However, I've also noticed those types of shows, when posted on youtube, have a disproportionate high number of views compared to other videos and the comments sections are lighted up.

Frequently the comments on these videos vary between those who believe the grace of God is sufficient and that these video stories is some type of backdoor works salvation, there are others who agree with the videos and think the church has become too light on sin and as are result there are too many false conversions where people have a false sense of security about where they actually stand with God and are tragically mistaken, etc....

The videos are highly viewed and highly commented.

Share a link. I would be interested. I have enjoyed some of his guests. Some I find questionable.

It depends on how you define entertainment. Sid and his guests are people of faith and mean well.

I'm not sure how he defines entertainment. I define it (ie Sid Roth) as "devotion-friendly content". Which means I do not count his shows as prayer time, Bible reading, thanksgiving or worship...so they don't add to that type of time. However, they don't subtract, that means if devotion time was invested, and you look at that program, then you are not going to "undo" what you just did. (ie imagine watching a bad movie after you spent time in prayer, that bad movie would undo the time spent in prayer and undermine it, etc...).

Entertainment is more like secular entertainment, fiction stories, and such like and can range from "devotion-friendly" to outright defiling.

A lot of Christian movies also are fiction stories using a sect's theology as a foundation, meaning the scriptural idea behind it may be sound but the presentation may not be.

HI and no "apologies" praise God. I think with things we just can't find that verse for.. we take with a grain of salt. After some time for me it seems. Seems to be many different "hells". Most don't even come close to the word of God. We know of every tribe and nation in heaven no one can count how many are there YES AMEN!

Does God have the power to do that, sure, but all you need to know is in the Bible. Even if this people were really there, do you need these testimonies to fear hell and repent?

Read the Word of God and believe. You need nothing else.

Btw. as we are nearer to Christ there will be a massive rise of false christians, teachings and prophecies so be very careful and just stick to Word of God.
