Children should never be used to "provoke" culture. They're children. They need and deserve to be protected. If adults want to fight culture wars, let them, but leave innocent children out of it.

THIS is not okay, and it's not "provocative", it's lewd and perverted. These aren't adults. They aren't even teenagers. They're little girls.

This type of soft kiddie inappropriate content may be acceptable in France and the rest of Europe, but not here.

Pretty rich coming from Texas. Although the movie is apparently thrash at least the actors probably weren’t expected to have sexual intercourse with anyone unlike some child brides.

Child marriage in the United States - Wikipedia

  • In Texas from 2000 to 2014, almost 40,000 children were married.[30][31]
  • In Florida, 16,400 children, some as young as 13, were married from 2000–2017, which is the second highest incidence of child marriage after Texas.[15]
  • In Alabama there were over 8,600 child marriages from 2000 to 2015, the fourth highest amount of any state. However, child marriage in Alabama showed a large decline in that time. In 2000, almost 1,200 children married, but by 2014 it dropped to 190.[31]
  • In Virginia between 2004 and 2013, nearly 4,500 children were married according to the Tahirih Justice Center.[32]
  • In Ohio from 2000 to 2015 there were 4,443 girls married aged 17 and younger, including 43 aged 15 and under.[33]
  • In New York, more than 3,800 children were married between 2000 and 2010.[34]

Not to be a stickler, but there is a big and crucial difference between a 17 year old and an 11 year old.

But 13 is ok ?

Nobody is saying any of this is anything other than child abuse but the sanctimonious “oh those French pedofiles” while having 13 year olds marrying legally in Florida is just mind numbing.

In France, really in most of the rest of the world, moves are made about life. Realistic situations about relations, actions, and the consequences of those relationships and actions.

In the United States, we don't like real life in our entertainment unless it's "reality" tv which is unrealistic impossible situations that cause conflict. Our films rarely show life on life's terms. Usually, they show something to emulate (the tough guy who takes no crap) or fantasize about (sex). So when we see a movie, we expect to either emulate it or fantasize about it. Definitely not learn from it about society or ourselves. That would be too French

I'm pretty sure the child was not abused in the making of this film. It depicts a true situation that goes on every day in America more than anywhere. Perhaps some parents will catch this, be appalled and actually check and see what their child is doing on social media and especially in their picture and video text messaging.

A storyline depicting a racy internet situation that is written to show how inappropriate the situation is is not even on the same planet as a video with an adult sexually penetrating a child. That actually is sick, perverted, disgusting, illegal, and they should be dragged into court. I wouldn't be surprised if the prosecutor never saw the film and based his case on the promo pics.
