  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I love American Beauty.

Yes. Great soundtrack, superb acting by Kevin Spacey and by that boy with the camera. Spacey and Ben Stiller (Something about Mary) both deserve an Oscar for THOSE scenes that feature the respective actors hands gently stimulating their lower body as well as the 'mind'.

Here's my top ten (as close as I can get to any particular order):

1. 2001: A Space Odessy
2. Blade Runner
3. The Passion of the Christ
4. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
5. Lord of the Rings (treating trilogy as one long movie)
6. Wizard of Oz
7. Goodfellas
8. Seven Samurai
9. Being John Malkavich
10. Down by the Waterfront

Other Favorites (in no particular order): Fistfull of Dollars, Mulholland Drive, Eraserhead, John Carpenter's The Thing, Scarface, Maltese Falcon

Blade Runner is a classic film that deserves to be in the top 10 ten. I simply loved the dystopian city portrayed in that film.
The film proved that yes America had achieved their glorious manifest destiny by conquering California but it was a catch 22 situation because although Cali is a really nice place, one should not forget that the sun rises in the East but sets in the West (california). Hence, the dark Los Angeles portrayed in the film.
Anyway, great direction by Ridley Scott and pure cinematic brilliance from Mr. Ford and all the production team.

Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door
American Beauty
Fight Club
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Equilibrium
Battle Royale
Shrek

An odd assortment.

Fight Club - superb film. Great acting by Brad Pitt and Ed Norton. In theory David Duchovny or Kevin Spacey could have tackled the nail biting cynicism present in the film. However, Pitt and Norton had the best looks for the film in that respect.
Shrek - excellent film. This is one Mike Myers film that I actually like! Cameron Diaz serves up a fine performance. Eddy Murphy also very funny.

Hmm, seen a few good ones mentioned already. Always hard picking a movie, depends on the mood really.

-Fight Club
-Pulp Fiction
-SLC Punk
-American Beauty
-The Boondock Saints

Those 5 are basically my dramas that are the best, otherwise the list would keep on growing.. hehe.

As you will be able to tell, I like comedy, and they are not Christian movies...unfortunatly:

Bruce Almighty
Eight Crazy Nights
Kindergarten Cop---Swartzanegger is hilarious in this movie.
The Rundown--THE ROCK is hilarious, "You done beating me up? Let's go!"
Liar, Liar--Jim Carey is probably my favorite comedy actor, well, actually I
might have to change that to Adam Sandler
both RUSH HOUR movies--Jackie Chan is the man!
