I know less about this. There are schemes which involve, say, obligation to work rurally for x number of years, but I've never participated in them and I don't know a lot about how they are administered. My friends who've done that, though, haven't complained of overly onerous processes.

The phenomenon that @RDKirk described is uniquely American wherein the administration of our loan forgiveness program has been shockingly bad.

I am a baby boomer and have not experienced any resentment or hatred from younger people or from my own children, not do I resent or hate them. I think they face a harder future than my generation had, but I also try to create a better future for them in terms of advocacy.
