These young adults seem to have better moral sense in one area than their American counterparts.
One area? Let me guess; is it their irrational hatred of people based on their inherrent sexuality?

Like Jefferson said, education is the cure for bigotry. To an extent this is an excuse for these Africans, given that education is so limited on their continent. I wonder what your excuse is...?

This has nothing to do with education level. It is about how seriously people take God. Obama completely misunderstood his audience. It is completely obvious to Africans that he is wrong on this issue. Of course African Christians have their own blind spots on issues like corruption which Obama was right to challenge. But he looks like a hypocrit when he preaches a morality At odds with their understanding of the scriptures. By making this issue a crusade Obama is undermining the moral credibility of the West.

The only way the West has any moral credibility is if it consistently supports human rights. The persecution of gay people in much of Africa is a stain on humanity, and to turn a blind eye would be to abandon all moral credibility.

You realize, of course, that sexual orientation can change, literally without trying?

It's not like race where you're born that way.

No, Obama understood his audience very well. He knows that leadership is more that being the first cow in the herd to step outside the scrum.
