2 Peter 1:5 (NKJV)
But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, (than a list of things to add) etc…

Then we read;

2 Peter 1:10 (NKJV)
Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;

Therefore scripture is putting forth a way, that in it, is a way of never stumbling…. This is scripture, so we know there is a truth being put forth here, and such a truth that would prevent one from ever stumbling… So therefore this truth would than need be searched into if one would know the way of never stumbling….

Scripture says to add to your faith these things, not to add them to your things to do list… For if one would put these things in their must do list they will instantly put themselves back under the law of do, which would put them back trying to perfect the flesh, failure once again being the only possible result…

So what is meant by this add these to your faith statement?

In the realm of believing we are instructed to add all these things, not in the realm of doing, meaning that one’s faith is to be virtuous, and to this virtuous faith add knowledge, and to that faith again add self-control, then again to that faith perseverance, and again add etc…

It is to the believing of the faith we are to add all these good and virtuous things, for by adding these things to one’s faith, the faith grows, whereby, when one’s faith grows they become more established in their trusting of God, whereby scripture says in this, will there be no stumbling for the believer found…

For all increase of God comes through one’s trusting of Him… This is the way to be established in one’s faith, this is the way of never stumbling..

Then one might ask, faith in what?

Faith in believing that one has died when Christ died and was raised to a new life when He was raised to a new life… This is the faith that overcomes, it is to this faith all these things are to be added, for if one adds these to one’s faith, scripture says, and we know there is no lie in scripture, one will never stumble…

Be blessed in the searching into, and finding, and then experiencing the truths wrote about in scripture, for in this searching, scripture says, there is a way of no stumbling found…

A fellow searcher into the truths described in scripture, Not me
