Well, of course, it is God's work in us,
but we also must choose to co-operate with Him!
Please remember, we have free will.
May God bless you ... I think you're getting it.

Indeed brother maybe I always understood it in the first place. We are in agreement. Pehaps you may consider how you word your thread titles in the future as we cannot do anything without Jesus. Thanks for sharing.

My loop-hole is an incredible secret ...
I have only posted it about 1,000 times here ...
Repentance!
Now, it's no longer a secret.
So, if you re-committ a sin, you know don't repent of that sin, your done? No loop hole?

I simply see problems with that salvation theology.

You "do your part" because of your salvation or to receive salvation?
What don't you understand about this? ...
Sanctification, justification, salvation ...
all are processes, which are not finished
until a BAC dies!

I see sanctification as a process. But, regeneration is step 1. Step one you're saved, justified.

Not at all I am only commenting on your post title. That says...
You must PROVE you LOVE the LORD to be saved!
Those little items listed in post#668
are necessary to prove you are saved!
But, not a verse to support any of your claims.

Proof to God.
God is omniscient. He already knows everything. Nothing to prove to Him. He even knows all your future sins and failures.

Proof to Satan.
Irrelevant and unnecessary. He has no say in people's salvation.

Proof to people.
Since when did others factor into one's salvation? As if we have to prove to others that we are saved??

Proof to yourself.
If a person doesn't know what they believe, there is no hope for them.

The Bible is clear: whoever believes has eternal life (is saved). John 3:15,16, 5:24, 6:47, 11:25-27, Acts 16:31.

Let's see, who did I forget?
How about what the Bible says about how to be saved.

I appreciated His grace and love so much
that I chose to do my part in my salvation!
Your "part"? Seriously? The only part one has is to RECEIVE eternal life by BELIEVING in Christ.

John 1:12 - Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—

1 Tim 1:16 - But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.

Believe, and receive. That's your only part.

P.S. Sanctification, justification, salvation
... all are processes, which are not finished
until a BAC dies!
Here is what the Bible says:
Rom 5:1 - Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Rom 5:9 - Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!

I suggest that you study the OP of this thread ...
Explaining the disastrous “grace-only” doctrine
A better suggestion is to study the Bible itself.

Regarding this so-called "disastrous grace-only" doctrine, please explain the gospel by which you were saved.

Paul was very concerned by the fact that the Galatian believers had switched to "another gospel", which was really NO GOSPEL AT ALL.

Galatians 1
6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel
7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.

This applies directly to your so-called 'gospel'.

Any system that adds to God's grace is NO GOSPEL AT ALL.

Eph 2-
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

Where is the verse that says we are saved by a combination of grace and works?

Now, that would be a DIFFERENT GOSPEL, for sure.

I see sanctification as a process. But, regeneration is step 1. Step one you're saved, justified.
I copied the following from one of my booklets

“IF you continue to believe …”
“IF indeed you continue in the faith …”
“IF we endure, we shall also reign with Him”
“IF we ignore this great salvation ...”
“IF we are faithful to the end …
we will share in all that belongs to Christ.”
“… receiving the end of your faith --
the salvation of your souls.”

NT verses such as these should make it obvious that salvation is a process!
So, it makes NO sense to think that
we were justified instantaneously.
We're not justified before we are saved.

Sanctification, Justification, and Salvation
are all processes ending at death.

“And through your faith,
God is protecting you by his power
until you receive this salvation,
which is ready to be revealed
on the last day for all to see.”
(1 Peter 1:5, NLT)

In every verse, context is key. And the subject isn't salvation in ANY of them.

NT verses such as these should make it obvious that salvation is a process!
So, it makes NO sense to think that
we were justified instantaneously.

The Bible says we ARE. As I showed with verses.

Here is what the Bible says:
Rom 5:1 - Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Rom 5:9 - Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!

We're not justified before we are saved.

No, we're justified WHEN we are saved. Which is when we believe in Christ.

Sanctification, Justification, and Salvation
are all processes ending at death.

Sanctification is a lifelong process, yes. Justification is a declaration, not a process. And salvation involves 3 tenses.

past tense: we have been saved from the penalty of sin. Justification. John 5:24
present tense: we are being saved from the power of sin. Sanctification. Phil 2:12
future tense: we will be saved from the presence of sin. Glorification.

“And through your faith,
God is protecting you by his power
until you receive this salvation,
which is ready to be revealed
on the last day for all to see.”
(1 Peter 1:5, NLT)
Clearly, this verse refers to the future tense of salvation.

I believe you are wrong. There seems to be to much you in your equation for salvation. There seems to be a process of "works" by you involved in salvation. Sheeze, if I have to rely on me accomplishing your list presented above, I'm doomed.

The really doomed ones are those who think they need to "do something" to effect their salvation. As If Jesus Christ didn't really do enough for them.

I agree with a BUT.
I think there are some saved christians who after they have been saved think they had to do something to get saved or remain saved. Perhaps they adopted false theology. I know all of my theology isn't correct.

On the otherhand there are some people who are not saved and trying to get saved by what they do. Those are the doomed individual.

I agree with your "but". :)

If they never trusted completely in the work of Christ and always thought they were responsible for part of their salvation, they haven't really believed in the biblical sense, and they are still not saved.

On the otherhand there are some people who are not saved and trying to get saved by what they do. Those are the doomed individual.
Correct.

You realize you then are also doomed.
No, I am NOT at all ... because:
... when I repent of my sin,
Jesus' blood cleanses me of all my sin!

Don't you believe 1 John 1:9,
2 Corinthians 7:8-10, etc.?

The #1 reason why the Word came from heaven
to preach on the earth (as Jesus Christ) was to
FREE those who are BACS from their sin!

This simply means they are NO longer
in bondage to Satan and to their sin!
They are now FREE to NOT sin!
They NO longer have to sin!

Next week, I will post a thread all about this,
with tons of NT verses, naturally.

Hello brother 57 nice to meet you :)

JESUS has made provision for all sin, past, present and future. This is of course conditional on REPENTANCE AND CONFESSION of our sins and on BELIEVING and FOLLOWING God's WORD.

None enter God's KINGDOM if they continue in known unrepentant sin because they reject the free gift of God's dear son and count the blood of the covenant an unholy thing *ROMANS 6:23; HEBREWS 10:26-27; HEBREWS 6:4-8.

1 JOHN 1:9, [9] IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS he is faithful and just to FORGIVE us our sins and to CLEANSE us from all unrighteousness

PROVERBS 28:13 [13], He that covers his sins shall not prosper: but whoever confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy.

ACTS 2:38 [38], Then Peter said to them, REPENT, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

ACTS 3:19 [19], REPENT AND BE CONVERTED, THAT YOUR SINS MAY BE BLOTTED OUT, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

ROMANS 3:25
Whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS THAT ARE PAST, through the forbearance of God.

Brother, we do not have FORGIVENESS for present and future sins if we do not REPENT and CONFESS them.

God bless

I hope you don't mind if I disagree with you.

There is the repentance of salvation which happen when people are regenerated. Their position is "saved".

As saved people we still sin. Should we repent and confess those sins? Of course...BUT...the reason we do is not to maintain salvation but rather to restore a relationship WE bruised.

You're theological problem is, what if I forget to confess a sin(s)? What if I keep repeating a sin? Your theology teaches you may not get into heaven.

Above you quoted 1 John 1:9. Fine and dandy, but, you didn't quote verse 7. " 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from ALL sin." I see "all" sin as past present and future.
