  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.

You can’t use executive orders, unless you are a dictator.

Former United States Vice President Joe Biden, who is running against President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election, said that he would not use executive orders to implement his policies because "you can't use executive orders unless you are a dictator.""

It's the same political game that's been played for years.

Both sides are okay with executive orders as long as it is their side that is doing it, and only object when the opposition does it.

Yes it seems that politicians are liars and hypocrites on both sides. God protect us from their evil master. For all lies proceed from satan and are part of his design.

i rather put my trust in those who speak the truth in love, very few of those brothers and sisters around nowadays.

Exactly, but that point doesn't fit the OP's narrative to find fault with President Biden. As I said, it's as if Trump loyalists are determined to find something to pin on President Biden and criticize him for it.

Here’s my question (as a non-Trump loyalist). Do you see hypocrisy in what Biden said during the campaign, and what he’s doing now?

I said and thought that from the first EO especially the EOs that cost several thousand people their jobs and his inane comment "They can get other jobs."

The function of a leader is to lead. Australia was paralysed by a potentially good PM who tried too hard for consensus. Nothing got done. He was duly replaced.

Every party in opposition accuses the incumbent government of governing by executive order, only to turn around and do the very same thing once voted in.

If that's true, then every President except William Henry Harrison who died 31 days into his Presidency was a dictator, and FDR was the biggest dictator of them all. :)

    Executive order - Wikipedia

It's worth noting that both the Supreme Court and the Congress can strike down any order they aren't happy with.

Do you think Biden is a dictator, using his own standard?

Absolutely there is hypocrisy there. But it's really tough to get worked up about it when both sides are guilty. This happens over and over again.

No, I think his statement about EO's was false. If he says another 32,572 or so false statements/misleading claims he might even catch up with Trump. :)

FYI, I don't think that I've ever met or heard a politician in my entire life that didn't lie or stretch the truth and who was never guilty of hypocrisy. I'd be shocked if Biden was the first. In fact i already know that he's not.

Is that really so shocking? Trump told me Mexico was going to pay for his wall. I didn't believe that either.

    And by the way.

One might argue that Biden's statement could have simply been taken out of context. Only a dictator has the complete authority to get *everything* they want strictly via EO's, whereas in a democracy you need to find consensus to get most things done. I suspect that's what he meant by that particular statement, but I can't be absolutely sure, and frankly I don't care.

Tbf, the wall may not have been a lie, necessarily. A lie requires the intent of deceiving someone.

He did start work on it, but never finished. So it's more of case of him trying to keep his promise, but failing due to various circumstances.

Also, many stuff he says, while not true, might not also be necessarily lies. Sometimes, he's just misinformed, but fully believes what he is saying.
