I don't ask questions. I don't know why. I know many of my lovely, wonderful friends here who probably wonder why I don't ever stop by their threads and ask something. I get there, and read and never can think of anything. I am good one on one in conversation.

I am warning ya'll...I don't answer them very well, either.
So, WHY am I doing this, then?
Well, I could use the practice.

Amazing how I end up knowing so much about people, though. Guess that is cuz I am a great observer of folks.

OK, SHOOT!!!!!!

*trembling*

OK, Let me think of something. What is your favorite color? What is your least favorite color?
*whew* Thanks, an easy first question; thanks for being gentle with me, Tim.

Fave color, easy: Orange; second faves, Gold and Black.
Least favorite: might have to be purple or white

Are you artistic? If so, what is your area of strength (i.e. painting, music, photography)?

Is there a book or movie that you will read/watch over and over again?

What is your favorite flavor ice cream?

Do you have a favorite place that you'd like to retire to?

I am artistic; cant'cha tell? :p I am so ditsy, I have to have an excuse!!!!
I love it all, but have more of a strong leaning towards drawing people, abstracts, and animals. Not as much the animals, but I can do it. (Please send photo if you request an original!!)
I use pastels, acrylics, and charcoal. Pencils are my fave, tho.

I could watch Forrest Gump and The Stand over and over again.
(common denominator; Gary Sinise!!) But I really don't watch movies.
The only books, of course besides God's Word, that I find myself going back to is Prescriptions for Natural Healing, gives lots of herbal and natural remedies; Power of a Praying Parent; and Safe People, because I find I attract unsafe people all the time.

I don't eat a lot of ice cream because I don't tolerate milk, only soy, but I love frozen yogurt, and of both treats I almost always get Vanilla everytime.

Yes!! I won't retire; I get to go back to work and prob. die doing it; lol...no SS to fall back on. My kids are small now, and I am already tired. I ask God to not let me live too doggone long on this planet, please. So, any talk of going somewhere else is just that; talk.
I dream of a few places:
1) Oregon
2) No. Carolina; cuz it seems like the absolute best people are from there.
3) Anywhere btwn. Texas and Florida.
But I am stuck here prob. for life. *sigh*

Who besides Jesus Christ has been a major influence on your life?
Geez, Tim, you gotta ask me a toughie, now; but I see you asked everyone.

Hmmmm....

Maybe my dad, both bad and good.

I was daddy's girl, going metal detecting and spelunking together in Europe as a child; and then when I was 10, he and my mom split up and then got back for a year, and then it was over for good. I didn't see him again, no cards or phone calls until I was 17. He and his 3rd wife met me and my HS bf at the fair. Ever since, we had fun and good times, and he and my stepmom were important to me from then on.
They followed me to Vegas, the year after I moved here, but they always loved it here.

My dad died 4 years ago in November, and I still remember the wisdom he imparted, the financial lessons I am still learning, and the way he never met a stranger.
It was a full military funeral, and I remember telling my sister thru heavy sobs, "He would have loved this funeral!"
I believe if everyone my dad had ever touched by just saying hello and having a short (or long!!) convo in a bank line, or casino, or at work, or whereever; had been able to be there at his funeral, the building would not have held them all. He loved people and took the time everywhere he went to ask them about themselves and give them a laugh.

Have you ever been to somebody who looks at the rings in your eyes, or you lock your fingers together and they try to pull em apart to help determine certain herbs your body might need?:)
Oh, boy, yes, once years ago.... I went to a chiropractor here to get my neck and back put in their original crooked place and got some quackola doc who wanted to see my aura and some other stuff with "crystal power" and such...blecch.
I was like, ok, ok, just pop my back.
It was $80.00 for that???

I am so not into the extreme weird stuff. I do believe in herbs and vitamins though.

Where do you currently call home? Are you originally from the southeast? How big a role do these things play in your personal identity?
I live in Las Vegas, NV.
It is not home; and hate to say it will never be, really.

I call LA home; the south. I grew up there, OK, TX, and FL. My dad was USAF and we even lived in Europe when I was young, so I could have been raised anywhere.
I didn't "fit" in with the teens in the south, I "fit" more here when I first moved here, but now, I don't feel like I "fit" here, and would love to go to back to the south.

I loved New Orleans a lot, although I had only visited, and it broke my heart to see the devastation.

P.S.

Have you ever fallen asleep while praying, if so did you feel guilty?

What US city have you visited or lived in that left you with that “I need to shake the dust off my feet “feeling?

Do you think the apostle Paul was married?

Would you say your table manners are Good, Ok, or Poor?
What part of your body is least pleasing to you?

Have you ever over drafted your checking account?

Is eating catfish a sin?

Have you ever participated in a moral or political protest, (if so tell us about it)?

Had you been born the opposite sex, what would you like your name to have been?

Your adult child has been convicted of a felony and confides to you he/she is completely guilty of this and more. Your child expresses no regret or intention of repentance, do you stand in line at the local jail on visiting day, if so do you bring them items they ask for like candy, cigarettes?

Which emotion do you experience most often
Anger or Sadness

Which way should the toilet paper hang? (End over or under/behind roll)

Do you think acts of nature (like Katrina, Tsunami) are “Gods Will” as intent to punish/redeem people or cities?

What type thing will be commonplace in 10-20 years that is now rare or that is still just in the idea phase? (The way cell phones, faxes, cars and airplanes have been in the past)

Can you see yourself as a finalist on a TV show like Survivor?

You have been given the chance to cure 1,000 people of a particular disease – Which disease will it be?

What in your opinion is a “brave act” and what is the difference between a brave and a foolish act?

Do you think you have any beliefs that people 50 or 100 years from now will think you must have been really stupid to believe? Or are all the silly beliefs finally weeded out?

If your spouse wants to go out for the evening with you, say to a particular movie, but you do not want to go, what should you do? Why? How can the two of you decide what is fair or right in way that is itself fair or right?

What is a good person?
What is a bad person?

I think we are all "good people/bad people", but for me, "unsafe people" are those whom I cannot be healthy and whole around because of some aspect of their behavior. I also must always put the safety of my children first, so I look for unsafe traits in others which could harm my children. I do not socialize with anyone who continually denies the Holy Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, whether in words or deeds.

When, if ever, is it right to break a promise

I have broken more than I care to admit, but usually because of promising carelessly. I don't ever think it is "right" but it happens because we are fallible human beings, trying to do what is right, but not always able to stick to it. With the Power of the Lord, we ought to be able to discern when to make a promise, if at all, and to be able to keep it when we do.

What is more important in a song that has words and music, the words or the music? Why?

I love music, all kinds of music, but I won't listen to anything that gives glory to evil.
I love heavy metal, and hard rock, alternative, but I prefer that it is Christian with a God-honored message. Sometimes, there are songs that have a message that is not necessarily Christian, but they still have a story to tell, or a lesson to get across.
So, they are both important, but the "type" of music is not...it's all good stuff.

Do you give rides to hitch hikers?

I did in the 70's; not often now; once in a great while if I feel a person, woman with a baby, or older person, needs help, I will. I always ask God before I pick anyone up.

If you die today
Do you know who you want to be your pallbearers?
Do you know where you will be buried?
How many people do you expect to attend your funeral?

No pallbearers; cremation, please.
Don't have a burial plot.
Scatter me over the ocean waves.
I don't know, I just hope all of my ex-husbands will get along that day...lol!!!
All I ask is that my four children are able to see one another on a regular basis. My main wish incase anyone wants to know.

Have you ever fallen asleep while praying, if so did you feel guilty?

Holy cow, where do ya'll get all these...*whew*
LOL!!!
Yes, many, many times, and NO, I don't have any guilt over being exhausted...lol!!!

What US city have you visited or lived in that left you with that “I need to shake the dust off my feet “feeling?

Where I live now. Blecchy Las Vegas, NV. Of course, there are good people here, and many, many Christians and churches. But, I miss trees, water, and fresh air.

Do you think the apostle Paul was married?

No, I don't get that impression; married to Christ, yes!!

Would you say your table manners are Good, Ok, or Poor?

You can take me out to dine in the finest restaurant, and I won't embarrass you, but I can sit and eat with the construction workers or bikers in the park. I am a very good social chameleon.

What part of your body is least pleasing to you?

My messed up spine; it's curved and hurts a lot quite frequently. Like right now.

Have you ever over drafted your checking account?

:p Often enough, thanks.

Is eating catfish a sin?

99.9% of southerners are going to hell if so; lol!!!

Have you ever participated in a moral or political protest, (if so tell us about it)?

Just a petition or two. Usually for medical marijuana some time ago, when I had friends who I believe needed it for their pain relief.

Had you been born the opposite sex, what would you like your name to have been?

I used to want to be a boy when I was a pre-adolescent!
My two faves have always been David and Donny.
(70's child; lol!!!)
Knowing my mom, it would have been something Arabic.

Your adult child has been convicted of a felony and confides to you he/she is completely guilty of this and more. Your child expresses no regret or intention of repentance, do you stand in line at the local jail on visiting day, if so do you bring them items they ask for like candy, cigarettes?

Oh, heck yeah. I would never turn my back on my kids and would always love them no matter what. I would not bring cigs, tho'; they would have to suffer that one, but I would be there emotionally, mentally, spiritually, but I would also expect that they take any punishment that was in God's will, no matter how I may die inside from it. I would have to face that, and so would they.

Which emotion do you experience most often
Anger or Sadness

Sadness quite frequently; hormonal, but also stems from loneliness.
Anger, yes, still on occasion working thru things I did not get angry about in the past and now it comes out.

Which way should the toilet paper hang? (End over or under/behind roll)

I always hang it end over front, but my bf does it under/behind, and I am courteous enough to replace it like that for him. I think it is however our folks did it, or what we are comfy with. If I married him, we would definitely NOT fight over this; there are more important things to worry about; I'd do it his way :)

Do you think acts of nature (like Katrina, Tsunami) are “Gods Will” as intent to punish/redeem people or cities?

I do not believe God punishes anyone like that on earth. But he does allow things to happen for His ultimate purposes, usually to bring us to dependence on Him. I know it says in the Bible that these things will happen. So will war and rumors of war, as much as we hate it, it will happen before our Lord and Savior returns for us.

What type thing will be commonplace in 10-20 years that is now rare or that is still just in the idea phase? (The way cell phones, faxes, cars and airplanes have been in the past)

If you were to ask my son, he would say it is robots that do everything for us. He is a budding inventor and scientist at age 11.

Can you see yourself as a finalist on a TV show like Survivor?

Oh, HECK yeah...if my back holds out. I am strong enough mentally and physically to do lots of that, but I would rather have done it when I was 24 not 44.

You have been given the chance to cure 1,000 people of a particular disease – Which disease will it be?

Probably diabetes. I have lots of close family and friends who suffer with this and it is so very hard.

What in your opinion is a “brave act” and what is the difference between a brave and a foolish act?

I do believe a "brave act" would entail thinking more about the other person or persons than myself, or in spite of myself or my safety or comfort.
"Foolish acts" usually entail being somewhat selfish.

Do you think you have any beliefs that people 50 or 100 years from now will think you must have been really stupid to believe? Or are all the silly beliefs finally weeded out?

Who knows, but I know some folks think of my belief of a spiritual world that is constantly around us, doing battle for us and with us, is foolish now. I personally feel that the spirits of love/good and hate/evil are all around us everywhere. We have the weapons we need in the Word of God and have nothing to fear, but we ought to be aware.

If your spouse wants to go out for the evening with you, say to a particular movie, but you do not want to go, what should you do? Why? How can the two of you decide what is fair or right in way that is itself fair or right?

This is easy, I say, "OK, I will be glad to accompany you out to this movie, if we can do what I would like next time; like have sushi at my fave place." OR; if I just feel really strong about it, I would suggest he go with a friend, and I would sit home but be looking forward to his return with a cup of tea and a hug and kiss.

Here's an easy one, haha, what is your favorite comic strip?
HI, Becky; fellow southerner, I hear?

Um, well, I do not read the comics anymore. Used to have to every morning, my obsessions change over the years...lol. Let's see, I loved Cathy, Peanuts, Garfield, Calvin and Hobbes, Family Circus; not in any order tho'.
