Wrong to eat out on Sunday?

Growing up, I always believed the Sunday to God's sabbath. We don't work on Sunday because it is the sabbath. One thing I always wondered though, if we don't believe in working on Sunday, we should eat and buy food from an place that does operate on Sunday? Aren't we supporting businesses to be open on Sunday and essentially requiring employees to work on the sabbath? My views on the sabbath have changed since then, but the question still remains. It's especially interesting considering the large church crowd that fills restaurants after church. P.S. I'm included in this church crowd. This is a question for us church people (and non-church people) to think over.

I personally believe, that it is not a sin to shop on Sundays. We are not supporting business to open either.

We have to remember that many of us are required to work on Sundays. I am pretty confident that I will not be condemed because there are times when I just have to work weekends. I am a nurse, with odd hours/shifts - what do I do if I just can not buy everything I need during the week because of my hours?

Doctors, nurses among the so many professions, are required to work, and it is NOT just for the money, it's to look after others, which is our duty of care.

Going way back to when Jesus was here, and way before He was even here - they didn't have all the technology we currently have.

As for dining out on Sundays, at least we are still praising the Lord and thanking Him for still providing us with food.

Just my 2 cents worth :)

For one thing, the Sabbath is actually Saturday.

Secondly, the physical day of the Sabbath doesn't matter - the point is that you are putting time aside for God.

Thirdly, we are not going to shut the world down just because it's Sunday. People are still hungry, babies need to be born, accidents are still going to happen. It isn't like God said "And absolutely nothing will happen on Sundays ever". I had to go out and by shaving razors today but I don't think God is going to smite me because of it.
