Several years ago, I had a site called "Catnap Corner Short Fiction, Etc." which was a venue for writers who were unpublished and underbpublished to display their work. I had published the work of a few writers (as well as some of my own work). I had the site going for a few years (with my own kooky editorials, which were a lot of fun). I missed doing the site so I decided to start a new one.

I am working on Graffiti: American Literature, and am looking for writers who wish to publish their works. I cannot pay you, of course, but it is a good way to get some exposure and you will have a credit. I'm just starting the site, so it's on a free site.

I'm looking for good strong writing, fiction, essays, poetry; almost any kind of work. I do not want any political rants. Please write me if you're interested. There will be two sites linked to each other, one for literary pieces and the other for "lighter" works--romance, poetry, and such. I welcome Christian writing.

Remember, it's a free site right now, so it's got ads and it's a little rough:

Have you thought of simply using GoogleDocs? It allows collaboration (ie others can read and comment as you write) you can add comments and view the doc with and without comments. You can easily create multiple docs for each tangent and create a link in the main doc to the other docs. Also, you can "publish" the doc to make it publicly viewable by anyone by simply giving them the link (these viewers will not be able to comment, but can view).

This might offer a lot of control for you, as well as the full features of a document editor, all online.

Just my 2¢ (it's what I'm using)

Personally I'm leary of these types of sites- mainly because of plaigerism and copyright infringements. It would be far too easy for some one to steal some one elses works.

I think that sites which discuss the art of writing are fantastic- however- writer be ware in sharing their manuscripts.

A new yet quiet forum for having help with learning to write and critiquing your work is
The Corner Cafe Forum
(just click on the above link)
http://www.thecornercafeforum.com/

I can personally vouch for the content, I am the owner. I don't allow questionable postings or flamings. It is a place to learn and grow and really have fun. We have several forums for you to choose from. I password protect the workshops so your work isn't readily exposed for piracy.

The membership is free and we are a group of non-professional and professional writers willing to help anyone wishing to learn.

There is even a section on Family History and Geneology for those interested. Under Family History we will be discussing how to write your life's story or journaling. If there is enough interest in religious writing forum I will add that as well.

As I said we are new but many of us come from a larger forum that also is a good resource for you.
AbsoluteWrite
(click on link above)
They do have a forum for religious writings as well but stay out of Office Party as the content in there is not moderated closely.

But the site is amazing and I can't say enough how they go out of their way there as well to help you get the right tools and the right help for everything from writing to publishing.

I hope you find this helpful and look forward to seeing you there. Just make sure if you join The Corner Cafe Forum that you list me as your referrer...but Cassiopeia with two s' ;) That way I will know you aren't just a spammer or bot :)

Take care and good luck with your writing.

Casi (one who couldn't cope if she didn't write)

A forum that has been made into a complete Hollywood environment-you write a film (like a screenplay, or you can actually film it if you want) and pick a cast for your film. You can make trailers and posters for your film to get people excited about it. Your film has a budget depending on your actors, genre, run time, ect. If enough people buy tickets to your "movie," you will make a profit (in the budget money). If your film is sucessful, it could be "Highest Grossing Film" of the month. If you win this award, you could actually win real prizes such as CASH, ANY DVD of your choice, or more. This also comes with a certificate.

All of this is free at Movie Reels. Even if choose to receive these prizes, the shipping and everything is payed for by the staff. You don't have to pay a penny. It is a fun environment and you'll like it. ;)

PS-If you actually sign up, tell them "Legend" sent you. ;)
