• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

write something nonsensical, surreal, silly.

repost from elsewhere, new, goblin down with a cold

Hoping you feel better my friend.
a hand, protruding from the bedcovers, waves at xxxxx now, where beneath it a green croaky voice goes "...if this resembles my deathbed here, know that there was ones amongst you humans who befriended me, and that I will put in a good word for you, just as long as you bring some hot lemon drink...", in fact, goblin envisaged that heaven probably had free WIFI and unlimited filtered coffee just for the asking, where if not he felt it probably better to stay behind instead

repost from elsewhere, the subject of perfect writing again

"...ah no, you humans can just keep anything "well written", and those who try to equate perfection in writing to mundane computer programming, joining up dots, etc., ..." repeated the goblin, continuing "..so it's no, not "well written" now, nah not "well written" never ever too, instead just I'll settle for something "well read" now, leaving grammatical goosestep, syntax niceties and other emperor's clothes stuff to those writer's workshops of would be writers who would flog themselves over it, and besides perfection is just too predictable anyway, so it's the unpredictability of life's imperfection that tantalises me now, wherein with livewriting one is so free to write it as one wishes, where when all is said and done, the hitcount to one's posts either condemns or condoles one's efforts, moreover, both critics and readers can come along for the ride if they like, just as long as they remember it's my journey to self though writing I'm writing here, not theirs..."

perfection IS a bit of a trap, isn't it? almost like a self-imposed prison of sorts,

("...nice poem..." went the goblin appreciating the picture too, saying "...and you're getting better now, for it's not what you write in any one post, no it's simply the general effect of keeping oneself focused upon posting something each day, where I don't think you would have understood let alone believed me if I had said this is your journey when I first met you brinny, whereas today I have no need to say anything, not if you value what lies within...")

repost from elsewhere, one's fortune and one's fate

maybe we should we ban him
"...and how does a ban change anything where one is anonymous anyway and where any post could be one's very last post now, just as any day could well be one's last day too, besides, all posts are dead by the time they've fed the slot here, so you build too much faith into something which is clearly yours to take but not actually yours to give, for posting, like life, is merely something voiced into the air, written on sand, and mixed upon the waters where what of any of this is permanent anyway, none, and yet, if one actually knows that all this is futile here, then doesn't one's actions following that knowledge somehow show you you to yourself now..." mentioned the goblin still posting on, simply understanding that what one did was indeed one's fortune perhaps, though what resulted was ever its fate

Some thoughts....
I was very ill around 5 years ago. I had no insurance. I was in the hospital at least 3 days. I required intravenous fluids and nearly died. The hospital i went to arranged to pay all my bills through private funding for those, like me, who did not have insurance. I owed nothing.

Here, in the United States of America, we may have less than ideal health care, etc. but we have freedom and people and foundations with compassion that respond to these kinds of needs. They give from their own compassion and ask nothing in return.

It's still the best system in the world, because it's in a "free" country where government is still of the people, by the people and for the people.

THAT should never ever change.

Light Pierces Darkness...
and sends it scattering....
running for cover...
for darkness knows,
that Light, His Light,
is its death blow,
its very demise....

Light shines in darkness,
piercing and obliterating it.
For darkness is a sniveling coward,
crouched in the corner,
with nowhere to hide
from the One
Who is Light Himself.

And He sends us,
His sons and daughters,
to shine His Light
into the heart of,
and piercing,
the darkest
of places.

So what’s it like on the other side? That’s the side opposite life, in case you don’t get my drift. Have you dipped your toe in, and returned? What did you experience? Have you communicated with someone on the other side? How did that communication take place? Can you recommend it as a place to go? Do you have any views on the notion that when a person dies, that person's soul returns to Earth to inhabit a new-born baby's body? And do we know we’ve been here before? If you’re wondering what I’m on about this time, I’m going under the knife in two weeks. The doc told me there’s a chance I might die. If that happens, I know you’ll breathe a collective sigh of relief and then throw a party, but in the meantime I want answers, but not from Christians. Go annoy someone else.
"...does anybody have any more life than anyone else I wonder, where tomorrow is not promised even to the most healthy amongst us..." mused the goblin, adding "...and besides, where are those you loved in life if not within you at this point, so too, by that logic then, if someone loves you in the way you yourself hold someone dear within you now, then you already know where you will be, just welcome in the their hearts once more...", in fact, the goblin often wondered if the heart was not some portal to a spirit-dimension then, where perhaps the afterlife was akin to our internet now, just another wondrous sea of forumland perhaps

the world would be a rather starkly cold place without compassion, wouldn't it? there's always the option of sharing what one has with others and feeding the hungry. It's what i do now. What about you? And not just me, but so many others who do the same. Sponsoring children in other countries comes as naturally for some of us as breathing. Does this really seem so far-fetched?

The tragedy of my country is that most are sleeping, and completely oblivious the what the fer-real future holds. Check out our "news"....it's MOSTLY about the "stars" *gags* and anything else of least significance. Entertainment is pushed while behind the scenes all manner of atrocities are decided for the sleeping masses. My country is dead. it is no more. We're in a fer-real Matrix. It's a living nightmare to be awake in all of this and to watch it.

("...I like you brinny, you make me think with your replies, so I'm enjoying this thread immensely, and together our writing is improving by the practice of it..." replied the goblin about to turn in, while outside the rain continued unabated to the sound of passing cars in the dark where this winter promised to be cold with a vengeance, and where the goblin suspected a reckoning was coming, whereupon he just smiled "...that roman line then of raise the humble lower the haughty is the way I see it perhaps...")
