I've seen more than enough footage to reach the only possible conclusion after said observation.

It is elementary that that is a fully automatic M-240 firing in the distance, delivering a hundred rounds at a time in an uninterrupted and sustained fashion. That would make an AK barrel and mechanism start to melt and malfunction. The rate of fire perfectly matches that of an M-240, and veterans are saying that is what we heard. It is easy to hear the difference between a bump fired AK and a machine gun. In photos of Paddock and his room all we saw was 60-round mags.

Also they said Paddock was using a bipod. Try bump firing in this sustained fashion with a bipod.

Well we should know on this one pretty soon. While they are both 7.62 they are different lengths.

The 7.62x39 used by an AK 47 has:
Bullet Weight 7.75-8.05
Rifling twist 240

The 7.62x51 has:
Bullet Weight 9.2=11.15 except for frangible rounds that are 7.03
Rifling twist 304.8

I think the guys in the lab can tell the difference.
