Trump had nothing to do with it. Those arrests in January were after months of investigation where the prosecutors have to be ready with charges. That investigation was launched and done when Obama was president - but presidents themselves are not involved. It is the police force, FBI, and prosecutors that do this.
The Access Hollywood tape did not help improve his positive coverage. His namecalling of his competitors did not help make his coverage more positive. Then there is the comments he makes, like about those Mexicans, and his tweets certainly don't lead to positive coverage.
