Modern English is an easy language to learn but hard to master. While writing in another post something about same spelling different words came to my mind. I think it might be fun to see how others read it.

A short haiku I just made up.

Winding wind so wound my heart,
Memories of ol' come alive.

How will you read it?

a. the word wound follows the winding theme giving the meaning of having a tied up emotions.

b. the word wound stands alone meaning of hurt emotions.

I did not pick up on the allusion to "tied up emotions", but equally "wound" cannot stand alone. Rather I saw a strong link between 'winding' and 'memories', since when recalling memories one often winds through a seemingly random set of connected memories. Just as the first words of each line are linked, so "heart" and "alive", at the end of the lines, have an obvious connection, literally and metaphorically.

You could also have considered wend, or wending, wander and wonder.
