Good point. There is also the fact that feminists in the US remain oddly silent about the treatment of women in the Middle East, particularly in nations like Saudi Arabia where women cannot drive. All women there are also under house arrest because they can’t leave their residence without a male relative.
I’m sure there are some feminists who criticize the horrific treatment of women in Muslim fundamentalist nations, but they seem to be few and far between.
What is also odd is how a lot of SJWs, most of whom identify as feminists, seem to be supportive of Islam. I remember seeing a video on YouTube (I can’t find the link right now, but I'll look again later) where liberals kids were holding a protest at a college campus. One of them, who is white, wore antifa attire, and not a Muslim, had a speakerphone and was chanting “Allah akbar” in a fake Middle Eastern accent, which is perhaps the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen. I guess liberals think Muslims are another “oppressed” group like black lives matter, feminists, etc., so they identify with them despite the fact that Islam is a reactionary religion that is very anti-liberal in principle.
Gender equality is a good thing, but feminism is not.
