...nothing except for his tendency to use simple words and disjointed phrasing and to go off on stupid, simple-minded tangents. Watching Trump trying to find his point is like watching Dory trying to find her childhood home.
Swell. Now let's let the discussion return to its topic, President Biden's speech difficulties and what they may signal.

Why even make such a pronouncement a year before his first SOTU? When he does his first SOTU next year, should we bring up the post here? I suspect you'll simply change the subject or move the goalpost by then, but why even put yourself in this position claiming something that has been a reality for over 40 years?

By next year, he'll no longer be able to carry out his presidency and will have been replaced, or his handlers will still be using some lame excuse to cancel it. Probably still blaming their paranoia about Trump voters breaking through the razor wire fence and overpowering the 5,000 military troops there in order to have access to "The Peoples' House".

Man.
The critiquing of Biden is weak since he's been president.

I hope he really bungles something up soon so we can have some decent critique of the man.

So far about 80% of it seems to be mocking and discrediting him because of his speech impediment.

Cognitive impairment.
And the other 20% for simply being a bad president who seems to care more about China than America.

Yes. trump always does better when all he has to do is read somone else's words off of a teleprompter.

Everyone is better off generally speaking when they're reading off a teleprompter with pre-written speeches. I was surprised just how much Obama used teleprompters for practically everything. The link below is from Politico no less,

Obama's safety net: the TelePrompter.

What I specifically was referring to is his inability to give the State of the Union address that is routine for other presidents in their first terms and has not been omitted or delayed past February for, what, forty years or so?

If we were to predict what he's going to do for the rest of his term, it could hardly be denied that this start seems to indicate a serious problem.
Man, some of you just don't know history. Presidents do not give state of the union speeches in the first year of their first term as president. No president in the last 40 years has done a State of the Union speech in the first year of the first term as president. In fact, you have to go back to LBJ, Kennedy and Eisenhower to find a president giving the state of the union during their first year in office.

They also generally don't surround the capitol with razor wire fencing and station thousands of armed troops to defend it over a conspiracy theory that some fringe group wants to blow up the place.

This is not stuttering:

You're right, it's not stuttering. It's a tiny segment of Biden looking for words, dishonestly taken out of context by some conservative pundit, and repeated by you, apparently without any attempt to look at the full context that entirely undermines the narrative you're trying to push. For reference, here's the whole thing. The pertinent part starts at about 6:30:

You should watch a video of him talking 15-20 years ago. The decline is apparent.
Well, he was never as sharp as the legend he created for himself. His business dealings tell us that. Face facts. Biden and Trump are both old. We need to ask ourselves why we nominated two old White guys. Of all the options, is this the best we have?

Trump sounds okay if you simply look at anytime he talks it is meant to be a self-aggrandizing speech. However, when you actually listen to the content, or worse read a transcript of his words, you ca clearly see it's a jumbled mess.

But Trump supporters will likely continue the Biden mental incapacity line, it only helps Biden because while they repeat this falsehood, everyone can clearly see he is competent, thus marginalizing their screaming about mental fitness.

How is it "taken out of context"? He was reading a prepared speech, and still couldn't keep his thoughts together, and his defenders call it "stuttering".

I've seen some folks put vocabulary to Trump's speech patterns in a way that makes them seem less jumbled. I forget the terminology, but the gist was that he often lets the listener fill in some of the blanks in a way that conveys meaning in spoken word, but that, when transcribed, looks like a mess. And I think that there's some truth to that - I want to say that it's something of a regional thing, that I've experienced.

But that's certainly not all of it. As you point out, unique speech patterns don't make you go off on self-aggrandizing tangents or talk about things that are just dumb at their core.

How is it not taken out of context? It's literally shown in isolation. That's the definition of being "taken out of context." You could listen to the whole thing in context and not notice it at all, because it's short and flows with the rest of what he's saying. The only reason you've noticed it is because somebody excised it and made a big deal out of it.

You mean the way a few of Trump's words during his speech on Jan 6th were isolated to make it sound as if he was telling people to get into a riot? Gimme a break!
