  1. Welcome to Christian Forums, a forum to discuss Christianity in a friendly surrounding.

Your voice is missing! You will need to register to be able to join in fellowship with Christians all over the world.

We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!

  2. The forums in the Christian Congregations category are now open only to Christian members. Please review our current Faith Groups list for information on which faith groups are considered to be Christian faiths. Christian members please remember to read the Statement of Purpose threads for each forum within Christian Congregations before posting in the forum.
  3. Please note there is a new rule regarding the posting of videos. It reads, "Post a summary of the videos you post . An exception can be made for music videos.". Unless you are simply sharing music, please post a summary, or the gist, of the video you wish to share.
  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.
  7. There has been an addition to the announcement regarding unacceptable nick names. The phrase "Let's go Brandon" actually stands for a profanity and will be seen as a violation of the profanity rule in the future.

Gunnysgt, yes, you know nothing. And refuse to inform yourself.
Not knowing something isn´t bad. No one can know anything. But as the saying goes, God helps those, who help themselves, you refuse to hel yourself to knowledge.

MT 5:1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

MT 5:2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

MT 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

MT 5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

MT 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

MT 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

MT 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

MT 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

MT 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

MT 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

MT 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

MT 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.

18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours

18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Gunnysgt, please stop using a computer, internet, cars, radio, tv, gunpowder weapons, pharmazeutics, don´t go to doctors,, don´t brush your teeth, don´t use soap, don´t use hot water. These are all things developed by those vile heathens, that were deceived by Satan. Using those tools, you are acknowledging the teachings of Satan.

I don't think all the things you listed are the teachings and/or works of Satan.

The scriptural passages I posted previously deal with spiritual discernment/wisdom.

JAS 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

JAS 3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

JAS 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

JAS 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

JAS 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Wicca is cool. Magic the Gathering is an okay card game, but some people blow it way out of proportion, both those who obsess about it as players and those who obsess about how "evil" it is. BTW, my Christian roommates at one time played Magic and collected cards. (They also were in an abusive relationship with each other, but I don't blame it on a card game.)

    Pertains to topic? Ok.

I don't think wicca itself is evil.
In fact it is a very beautiful system of belief.

But I personally don't believe it is the way to Heaven. However, I respect its believers as much as I expect them to respect me. So long as they have done enough real research to lead them to the conclusion they have come to.

It's hard for me to respect the whole, modern, "wicca is cool 'cause it's on TV" gang. Which is erroneous because the 'wicca' depicted on TV is a far cry from what is truly practiced, and what is truly practiced is a far cry from what the original 'ancient religions' actually were.

Do your research and study into any system of belief before accepting it as whole truth.

My soul searching and research led me to Christianity, and I will defend my stance to anyone. But I respect others' decisions as well.

Do we as Christians embrace the darkness vs. the light. Do we befriend the world so as to be accomadating. We must pray for the lost, those that have been beguiled by Satan, the father of lies. God's Word states Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Why is this? For he walks about as a roaring lion, seeking to devour, destroy and kill.

Jesus said, He came to save that which is lost. Jesus said He was the truth, the way, the life. God's Word states their is no other name unto Salvation.

As I pick up the Cross of Christ daily, as He commands I cannot speak lies to those that are in peril of eternal damnation. I realize this message is unpleasant to many but this is part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God(The Father, The Son[Jesus Christ], The Holy Spirit), is a God of love, mercy and grace. He is also a God of wrath. This once again is an offensive message. It is the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.

Fellow Christians, who profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, as you know, the battle that takes place on this message board is the same one that takes place all over the world as I write, It is a spiritual battle not between flesh and blood.

    EPHESIANS 6:12
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

This battle is very real for Christians that choose to pick up the Cross of Christ and take to the battle field each and everyday. Entering onto the battlefield is not without cost. One will be buffeted and maligned with every step into the camp of the enemy. I say there is reason to rejoice in this! What we experince pales so much in comparance to Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior. It pales in comparance to the saints of old in the Holy Bible. It pales in comparance to the saints that are presently suffering greatly in countries around the globe because they have professed that Jesus Christ, as their Lord and Savior.

We who proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, the Only Name Unto Salvation will be the recepient of negative comments for the prince of air, desires for All Christians to befriend the world and it's ways. The enemy of our soul whishes for Christians to be entangled with the things of this world so as to de-focus us from the Great Comission of spreading the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. The Gospel Message is one that offends for it is the very Word of God.

    HEBREWS 4:12
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

    JOSHUA 24:14
14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.

    JOSHUA 24:15
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

I believe if we are making ourselves as a living sacrafice to the Lord, that this decision is made daily for we choose to walk in the Spirit vs. the flesh.
Regardless of circumstance and/or situation rejoicing in all things. When Paul exhorts, That we are to fight the good fight of faith it indicates that there will be opposition, great at times.

    ROMANS 12:1
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

    ROMANS 12:2
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

    PSALMS 119:1
1 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.

    PSALMS 119:2
2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

As a Christian, I shall be accountable at the Judgement Seat of Christ for what I did with His entire Gospel Message. I shall pray for the lost that eyes might be opened. I shall tell the entire Gospel Message of Jesus Christ, for this I am accountable.

Thank you for providing some of your thoughts with this post Gunny. It makes it much easier to comment on.

I'm still rather intrigued by the whole darkness=evil, Light =good concept. I mean darkness really only refers to half of each day, which is neither evil nor good in and of itself. Why do most Christians still cling to this rather innacurate description?

Since I have not been beguiled by Satan, and I am not lost, then your need to spread the gospel really shouldn't include me, or my Faith.

3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

    LUKE 12:4
4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

    LUKE 12:5
5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

    JOHN 12:35
35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

    JOHN 3:19
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

    JOHN 3:20
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

One may as well assume that elephants can fly. There's no such thing as magic, so arguing about whether it comes from God or Satan is moot.

The only reason European pagan beliefs were equated with witchcraft or Satanism was because they competed with Christianity. The established church wanted a monopoly on religion, so they called pagans devil-worshippers so they would have a doctrinal excuse to suppress their religions. As Seebs alluded to, King James put a nice twist on this when he decreed that the property of a convicted witch would be confiscated by the crown. Then the more witches you burned the more wealth you got. That was also a factor in the Salem incident, and in that case none of the accused "witches" were pagans at all. They were fellow Christians who were fingered by the accusers.
