I'm not. I'm just taking what Christ Himself has plainly stated and deducing logically.
Our Lord said the way to destruction is broad, and the narrow way is hard and few shall find it. But He didn't say the overwhelming number of human beings would go to hell. He never said that. His way can be hard and narrow without it meaning that most human beings are going to go to hell. That is an assumption, not a logical deduction. I'm not convinced that Christ is talking about "going to heaven" and "going to hell"; rather it seems Jesus is talking about the difficulty of a life lived in devotion to Him, following Him.
Even Christians frequently follow the broad way and we rarely follow the narrow way. Because the narrow way, the way of Jesus, is hard. It means taking up our cross, it means enduring trouble and sorrow and grief in a world that is battering us from all sides. Does that mean that, in the end, when we stand before the Throne of Judgment, we will be cast out? No. It will not be our performance, our ability, our strength, etc that will save us--only the grace of God in Jesus Christ, whose blood covers a multitude of sins (all of our sins, in fact), will get us through Judgment to life. We depend solely, and entirely, and only on Jesus and God's grace toward us sinners which He has for us in Him.
If salvation were about our ability to follow Jesus perfectly, none would be saved. Christ Himself is clear on that when the rich young ruler went away sad "for he had much wealth", the disciples ask Him, "Who then can be saved?" And Jesus says, "With man it is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Do not trust in your ability to follow Jesus perfectly, though that is what He calls you to do for it is the way of life, the call of perfection as His disciple. Put your trust in Jesus who has accomplished what you could not, who has suffered and died in your stead, and who has reconciled you to the Father, and clothed you with His robes of righteousness and cleansed you with His precious blood. And, in that hope, seek Him, seek first the kingdom of God, put your gaze upon Christ and follow Him, taking up your cross. Will you stumble? Yes. Will you fall? Yes. Will you fumble, and struggle, and constantly tumble head over heel time and again? Yeah, you will. But He continually calls you, to repentance, to faith in Him, and to pick up that cross and keep on walking after Him.
So yes, the way of Jesus is hard and narrow--but do not assume you are on the narrow way simply because you are a Christian. Rather, confess your sins, acknowledge when you are on the broad path, repent, seek the mercy and forgiveness of Jesus and rely on His cross, His words, His promises, His Gospel: that's the only way you, I, or anyone is making it through the Day of Judgment in one piece.
Do not assume that everyone else is in jeopardy, but you are fine. That, too, is the broad way of destruction. Rather, you are the sinner, the one who bears the plank in your eye, you are the blind man who needs his sight restored, so always, always, always look to the Savior, put your confidence in Christ alone, trust in Him and what He has said and done, and never to yourself. As for everyone else? Preach the good news, love them, if they are hungry give them food, if they are thirsty give them drink, if they are naked give them clothes. Bless and do not curse, pray for those who oppress you, love those who despise you. And when you don't, repent, confess, and put your trust in Jesus. The God who loves you and who saves you, a sinner, is the same God who loves all other sinners and intends to save them too.
