  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

And not man for the sabbath
Thats right. Man was made first Gen 1:26, than God made the Sabbath Gen2:1-3 Exo20:11 hence why the Sabbath was made for man because man came first. God wanted to bless Isa 56:2 and sanctify Eze 20:12 man through His power right away, because without it, we really are nothing. Isa66:17

Premises:
1. The Sabbath was a part of the Mosaic Law and of the Mosaic Law only.
2. The Law was only for Jews, since Moses till Christ.
3. Even the book of Genesis was a theological part of the Mosaic Law and is not literal (namely in its creation account).

If these premises are all true, we are not supposed to keep the Sabbath.
We are not to keep Sabbath in its original stipulations, but we still are to meet as a body of believers and all the more as we see the Day approaching!

Funny how you manage to take a day where we are not supposed to do anything, to, if we don’t do it, we are condemned ^_^

I think this qualifies for straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel.

This was not me speaking most of what I quoted was God speaking directly

Where in the Bible does it say we are not supposed to do anything on the Sabbath. God said to keep the Sabbath day holy Exo20:8 its a holy convocation (gathering) Lev23:3 the day to honor God Isa58:13 I think you are confusing secular works with keeping the Sabbath day holy. God does not want us lazy, we wants to spend holy time with us.

This was not me speaking most of what I quoted was God speaking directly I do not believing profaning one of God's commandments that He made holy and blessed is like straining a snap but believe as you wish.
So Jesus was profaning the sabbath, when he allowed his disciples to pluck wheat, healed the sick?

Of course not, it was never a sin to eat on the Sabbath or do good by helping people in need on the Sabbath, You were the one who just said we aren't supposed to do anything on the Sabbath which is not supported in Scripture.

So what’s your point even? No one is saying we should do evil.

I was wondering the same thing about your point to be honest. You started it saying no man for the Sabbath and I showed you why and took that for not doing anything on the Sabbath, which is not what the Scripture states. Probably best we both move on, but wish you well.

On the Sabbath, we rest from our works. If we are in Christ, then we have entered the Sabbath…

Hebrews 4:9-11

The alternative would be to keep toiling to earn your salvation.

We rest from our works to keep the Sabbath day holy Exo20:8-11 why Jesus and the apostles were going to church Luke4:16 Acts18:4, reading the Bible Acts 13:44 Acts 15:21, praying Acts 16:13 and doing things to keep the Sabbath day holy, honoring God Isa58:13. We do not enter into the Sabbath, we keep the Sabbath day holy Exo20:8, its something man does Isa56:2 , we enter into Christ rests, through faith and obedience. Those who enter His rest also cease from their works Heb4:10 as God did, on the seventh day Heb4:4 Exo20:8-11

People have sadly misunderstood Paul and have taken any obedience to God's commandments to an extreme as bad and disobeying God is good. This is never what Paul taught or meant. While we can't save ourselves by keeping God's commandments, no one is saved not keeping them Mat7:23 1John2:4 Rev22:15 Heb10:26-30 they can only be kept through Jesus Christ John15:4-10, they are a result of salvation Rev 14:12 Rev22:14, not a means to it. Not keeping them one is in rebellion to God Rom8:7-8 and only God can define His commandments and how to keep them and the mouth of the Lord has spoken on this subject clearly, He even personally wrote it out for us.

If, by the seventh day, you mean the rest of your life, eternity in Christ, then yes.

I am referring back to God's written and spoken Testimony of what is the Sabbath. :)

Exo 20:10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God

And this never changed Heb4:4 because no one is above God to change His written and spoken Testimony. Exo31:18

Right but in Revelation only those who are beheaded for Christ’s sake rest from their works so which way you gonna have it?

Can you quote the Scripture please because I can assure you keeping God's commandments is what God wants us to do Exo20:6 John14:15 and how we are reconciled back according to one of the last Scriptures in the Bible before Jesus returns Rev22:14

Has God's people been persecuted? Yes those who keep His commandments (His version) Rev12:17 and will happen again. But which side do you want to be on once He returns, those who died for Christ or lived for another spirit many without even realizing because whoever we obey is who we serve Rom6:16.

Romans 8:14-17

Are you a slave or a child of God?

Can a man go back into his mother’s womb, and be born again?

By the way you read things, unless you’re literally beheaded, you’re not gonna enter the rest

Revelation 20:4, Revelation 14:11-13

Note that all who do not worship the beast are slain. Only they enter the rest. Those that worship it do not enter the rest. They still rely on their works.

Revelation 13:15

We are not to keep Sabbath in its original stipulations, but we still are to meet as a body of believers and all the more as we see the Day approaching!

Galatians 4:9-11
Romans 14:5
Not one of these verses say not to keep the Sabbath commandment according to its original stipulation. In fact, neither of these verses mention the Sabbath at all.
Hebrews 10:24-25
Yes, continues the way Jesus said it would be

Isa 56:1Thus says the Lord:

Isa 56:6 “Also the sons of the foreigner
Who join themselves to the Lord, to serve Him,
And to love the name of the Lord, to be His servants
Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And holds fast My covenant—
7 Even them I will bring to My holy mountain,
And make them joyful in My house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices
Will be accepted on My altar;
For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
8 The Lord God, who gathers the outcasts of Israel, says,
“Yet I will gather to him
Others besides those who are gathered to him
.”

God's Sabbath has always been a "holy convocation" Lev23:3 gathering of His people (congregation)

Which the words of Jesus always coming true and why we see with the examples of the apostles continuing the Sabbath convocation with all nations (people) every Sabbath decades and decades after the cross just as Jesus predicted Mat24:20 Mat21:13 Isa56:6-7 following in the example of Jesus Luke4:16

Act 15:21 For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”

Acts 13:42 So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.
Acts 13:44 On the next Sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God.

Acts 18:4 4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks.

Why the Sabbath continues for eternity, just as God said because He changes not,

Isa 66:22For as the new heavens and the new earth
Which I will make shall remain before Me,” says the Lord,
“So shall your descendants and your name remain.
23 And it shall come to pass
That from one New Moon to another,
And from one Sabbath to another,
All flesh
shall come to worship before Me,” says the Lord.
