It does not take much thought to come up with the names of a half of dozen of political heroes whose sexual adventuring has been quietly ignored so that their marble memorials need not be torn down because of their exploitation of others and the hurt visited upon families who need fathers- no matter how bad they may be as husbands, and movements that need leaders- no matter how sleazy and seamy their "private lives" may be.

The recent spate of revelations about what goes on in the upper reaches of the entertainment and news industries in this country may seem disconcerting, but these folks have almost always moved from marriage to marriage to marriage and no one batted an eye.

The Church is still backwards when it comes to women. We really placed our hopes in the promises of Pope Francis that more women would be appointed to decision making positions, but nothing came of it. The church is still run by men.

The Catholic Church can have infallible dogma, and still have corruption among its members. Our hierarchy, from the simple deacon to the Pope himself, can be adversely affected by the sinful culture around us. Thousands of years of patriarchy subjugating women is not easy to undo, even in the Catholic church.

Trying to climb to "the top" for power is the opposite of what Christianity stands for. As it says in Matthew 20:16 "So those who are last now will be first then, and those who are first will be last." and James 4:10 "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up."

Good. Being front-ward would be headlong into apostasy.

That's about the sole Progressive idea that he hasn't supported, as it would appear tat he seems to be 99% of the time.

    One should only hope . . .

Given that females are perpetually and immutably prohibited by Holy Tradition and Divine Law from Holy Orders; it seems only reasonable and logical, "the Holy Ghost select suitable men from the bishoprics whom the Christ has purchased by His blood to rule the Church of God".
