Why should the police protect protesters?

So you would toss the baby out with the wash water?
What baby?

You are talking about men quitting because they can't bear to do their job without cruelty and depravity.

"Good Cops" need to step up and arrest the bad apples as soon as they commit their crimes, not wait to be shamed by publicised video recordings.

Protester and looters are joined at the hip; a marriage made in hell.
Are they though?

I've seen a lot of people attacked by supposedly well trained and disciplined police for daring to demand they do their jobs properly.

All of law enforcement is being impugned, not just the bad apples.

A cop is still human. Goad him enough and he'll bust your head.

Standing by while the protesters burn the city down? Perhaps they need a better plan, like standing between the protestors and private property.

Because: human life > property.

Protesters = human life

Even the Bible agrees.

Do you know what you call a civilian who stands by while his friend commits a crime then drives off with him? An accessory.

Then they go to jail.

Especially when the "goading" was an accusation of being out of control and violent.

Then the protesters should be better organized so the hooligans don't take advantage of the demonstrations. They are often Act One of the two act play.

This is useful, but how will they do this?

Or, instead, you could prioritise unaccounted murder and mayhem over some theft and property damage.

Then they should protect the law abiding rather than the lawless.

Laws are not really black and white. Never been.

The Pharisees kept accusing others because they lack understanding.

Understanding will solve this national issue NOT speedy fingers.

If you never experienced having a mother who got drunk and smoked through her pregnancy,
grew up being pressured into gangs, having your brothers and sisters killed left and right, then you can never understand those people you're accusing.

...And let's not begin to account for all the things you should have been doing instead, according to Christ. I know you support many charities, but that won't be enough.

Let the one who is sinless / completely innocent cast the first stone.

Pick a location away from buildings, especially retail businesses.
Don't advertise the time and location, except to the city officials if necessary.
If the hooligans show up immediately end the demonstration and disband.

Explain your point and perspective to me then?

Because, in my opinion, allowing crime to be committed with a badge as protection is worse for law and order then no order at all.

Useless. Ridiculous.

The whole point of a protest is to get people involved.

I cast the building blocks of needed change, not "stones". If you have followed my posts you would know this.

Many of the protesters are probably emotional, prone to making mistakes...

You seem to be much more calm and of sound mind than them, maybe you should help them organize the protests??

More step back than step up.
Totally false.

Saying nothing or "protesting" by staying out of the way would have left justice undone. The havoc of these protests has brought some serious problems with society back into view and done some good already.
