Why should I or anyone else believe in the supernatural let alone a God? To me the Bible, Koran and other religous texts are just books of myths and superstitions. Also, what makes some of you take it seriously?

Bookofknowledge,
Thank you for responding but WHY do you believe what you believe? What exactly makes you believe what is in the Qur'aan is real? I refuse to believe in something "just because", mainly because I cannot and it is an absurd way to live. There has to be some justification for your faith or you believe "just because". Please enlighten me.

I believe in Qur'aan because I have read Qur'aan and spent years trying to understand basic knowledge.
Currently you claim to be a non-muslim and you being in your current state, I present you a verse and you accept the verse without rejecting it and accept it without me forcing you then for me it's a TRUTH.
If you and I can agree on somthing then it's a common platform. This is what Qur'aan teaches "Come to what is common"

Why communicate with mankind through holy books, prophets, etc. if God is supposed to omnipotent, it just doesn't make sense to me.
My reply:
Well i can understand I think what your saying...
I believe God loves us and doesn't leave us alone without Divine Guidance.. so throughout history He has chosen Messengers and Prophets Who have lived exemplary lives and provided the needed guidance for mankind at crucial epochs in history.
When the Hebrews were enslaved in Egypt for centuries, God chose a man who was accused of murder and stammered to bring His message of liberation from tyranny.
When Judea was a Roman province and under Roman rule and the people were exploited by a priestly class that had a spiritual strangle hold on them, God raised up a Man Who was poor and humble but could teach them new spiritual truths, a Messiah fulfilling the prophecies people had been waiting for.
When the Arab tribes were disunited and a prey of powerful empires over a hundred or so years, God chose a Man who was leading caravans and a shepherd to united the tribes for the first time and free His land from exploitation.
So God uses nondescript human beings to reach humanity and bring His Message for the age.

I've asked the same questions.

Thanks for you reply.
It's just seem kind of pointless to use flawed human beings to spread an important message.
You should not believe without evidence if I told you Santa Claus was real I hope you do not take my word for it and request evidence.
...the gifts he has given us to reason, understand, intellectualize, think, etc.
...He is communicating to us.

Then how would you expect God to communicate to humans? Do you have a method better than a medium that they can understand, language?
It seems to me that you would advocate not attempting to reach flawed beings regardless of their flaws. It would be like not telling your neighbor that his house is on fire because he is flawed or that he should not run into the street because he is flawed. God cares enough to deal with our imperfections. It is not as if we can't comprehend and understand although we are flawed. The problem is not just about being flawed; rather it is more about what we can understand through the gifts he has given us to reason, understand, intellectualize, think, etc. so that we can repent and live a new life once we understand what He is communicating to us.
Let's not get off topic here. Can anyone explain WHY someone like myself who relies on their own senses, reason and common sense (instead of blindly accepting what others tell them) should believe in the supernatural let alone a god? I have never experienced anything supernatural, NOONE can provide ANY proof of the supernatural. Why should I believe in something when everything indicates its non-existence?
