Exhibit A.

Of course the problem isn't the bill, which goes out of its way to enshrine gay marriage as a core American value. It's that it accepts the premise that once you let those rascally conservative republicans do something like limit abortion rights, the next thing you'll have is lynchings and gas chambers and women dying in back allies and tortured homosexuals. That's what this bill was all about, riding that wave of media hysteria that claimed with Roe overturned, the next thing they'll do is go after gays, interracial marriages, and other nasty things.
The idea that 'once a conservative wins, the universe is that much closer to exploding' is an oft invoked media narrative. Time and again whenever the press reports on a conservative proposal, it's framed as either an immediate threat to various groups, or a stepping stone toward Jim Crow, swastikas and pogroms.

Is his thought that voting for the Respect for Marriage Act was a loss for conservatives not drawing the same zero sum game that the Democrats use? Can't we protect the ability for gays to enter into a civil union protected by the government and allowing similar spousal benefits that traditional marriage gets and at the same time protect the right of churches to oppose same sex marriage by not having to cater to this sin. For me, if we want to have separation of church and state, we also have to allow for different definitions of marriage between the two groups.

Griffey would probably say that the morality of our country was originally based on Christian morality and that it has slid to secular morality. I agree with this; but I think that ship has sailed when Thomas Jefferson wrote in 1802 that the government should not have any influence over religious opinions. He, of course, was talking about a practice in Virginia pre-Independence where the Church of England was using the government to pass laws restricting the ability of Baptist preachers to steal sheep. Unfortunately, we are now at a low point in our country's morality where a majority of the people have drastically different opinions than Christian morality. If we want to change that, we have a very long road ahead. Humanity has a gravitational pull to the immoral and slides downhill much faster than it can be pushed back up.

I think it's best to hope for a complete collapse of the satanic US and its demonic government and society. It's completely evil, border to border. Most of the western world is. Only when it all falls apart can we rebuild it.

A complete collapse might be very painful, and even deadly to millions. But maybe it could be done in the way the Soviet Empire collapsed and Eastern Europe managed not to be thrown into murderous chaos.

At this time in history it would be good if the Russian Empire devolved, if the Chinese Empire devolved, and if the American Empire devolved. Pray for all three to be peaceful.

The problem is not with the government. The problem is a culture and a society that has turned its collective back on God.

John Adams said on October 11th, 1798, "Should the People of America, once become capable of Justice and moderation while it is practicing Iniquity and Extravagance....rioting in rapine and Insolence, this Country will be the most miserable Habitation in the World. Because We have no Government armed with Power capable of contending with human Passions unbridled by morality and Religion. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

In other words, we have Liberty. But Liberty must be seasoned with Morality, because if the people have no moral anchor, Liberty becomes License, instead of privileges, you have excesses. Liberty will only work if the people who possess it have enough integrity that they do not exploit that liberty in order for selfish gain.

Liberty is a system that works for people with self-control and respect for the whole.

What we have is a society of selfish opportunists and rapacious anarchists. There is nothing that will destroy a free people faster than our current godless, selfish, greedy mindset which we see all around us, especially when it's seasoned with the complete abandonment of common sense and an extended adolescent petulance that refuses to accept reality.
