Why is God so hidden? Why must we seek Him to Find Him?

"The Lord" promises you nothing! You can show me nothing that was written by a god. All that you can show me are promises written by MEN who claim they are speaking for a god.

Just as the snake oil salesman CLAIMS that he cures cancer!

You are either lying or you understand nothing about science.

And tell me, why is it that, when one of you people wish to disparage science, the worst insult you can bestow is to liken it to a religion !?

Science studies nature. There is nothing in nature that should cause a scientist to boast. Scientists should be humble about what is known. A true scientist does not assume that he knows more than he actually does. A true scientist knows the importance of maintaining an attitude of humility and reverence in the face of nature and to be receptive of truth. He must be conscious of the limitations of his finite understanding of the natural world. The same goes for one who believes in God. One can be a scientist, and a believer in God.

None of us have reason to boast. Which one of us had anything to do with who we are? Where we were born? Who are parents are? Our height? The color of our skin? Just by thinking about it, can we add one inch to our stature?

The way I know Him now is nothing like I "knew" God when I was younger. But I would never have known Him like I do now if it were not for the years of 1. Praying 2.studying scriptures 3. taking notes about my experiences and comparing them to the bible and modern science...I could go on and on. What I am wondering is that if I had not done all of that over the last 20 years I might have no clue who He is or even if He even exists in the first place.

So why is it that God hides himself so cleverly? So much so that honestly nobody can really PROVE any doctrine because there is always a verse to debunk the theory.

Thoughts?

Very simple, what God seeks and wants is the "faith" of human. If He is easily accessible, then faith is not needed.
After this life, and if you made it, then He will be everywhere around you, no more hiding.

You know, this whole idea of truth being hidden goes deeper than we might imagine. I actually believe that Satan and his crew are responsible for covering up much of the truth. The thing is if that is true, then God MUST not only allow it but He must actually want it to be hidden. Think about it, Jesus spoke in parables. Obviously He does this all the time. Why you ask?
If God wants us ALL saved then why on earth would He allow Satan to cover up truth? Im not 100% sure but I am sure Ockham's Razor applies here.

Perhaps there is a deeper meaning of salvation. Perhaps its not about the details of biblical doctrine. Perhaps it is so simple that few will accept it.

God can easily stops satan in the Garden. Why does God allow it to happen?

Fine. What does any of that have to do with the issue of 'faith'?

The same goes for one who believes in God.

Nonsense. There is nothing the "same" about the scientific method and belief in gods. One requires theories to be supported by evidence. The other exists on hiddenness and totally unsupported claims. They have nothing in common, other than they are both practised by humans.

One can be a scientist, and a believer in God.

So what? One can be both a motor mechanic and a circus clown. This does not imply those vocations are related.

What are you talking about now?? Is this just another attempt to wander away from the issue of 'faith'?

Yes, goblins need the same. The reason you can never see them is that they want your 'faith'.

I don't think I am the one that's confused. I believe the Bible and true Science go together.

Show me. How are science and the belief in gods intertwined? How does science operate on a principle of hiddenness and wishful thinking?

I'll flip that around. How did you conclude that God's creation is hidden?

How do you study something that you can't see?

Because I was replying to this from your fellow theist!

I was commenting on the view of CHRISTIANS that your God is "hidden"!

Faith is one thing every superior wants. Whether the being can get it depends on the theology of the being. This argument is an extension to the answer of the OP. So, it is, in fact, another question. Yes, satan also wants my faith. However, he can not get it. Why doesn't satan just show up to everyone and exercise his power, so all people may believe in him?

And you could ask the same question of your supposed god!

God is holy. He will never be seen under mans microscope, as if he were an insect, or bacteria. Mathematical equations will not be stronger than the God who created it. God is a spirit and must be worshiped in the spirit.

Science cannot disprove Gods existence. Is it too much to ask then, that science not mock what they cannot disprove?

And nor does it try to. Nor does it try to disprove goblins. Does that mean they exist?

And I note that have entirely run away from the issue. Why is religious observance the only arena in which we value hiddenness and absence of evidence?

What is what the OP is doing. And I have provided the answer according to Christian theology.

You have answered nothing.

In every other field of human endeavour or thought, openness and honesty are regarded as virtuous qualities. Why do these qualities cease to be valued when it comes to religious thought?

I answered, but you said I did not.
