I used to read but I don't understand as words keep mixing up, I mix up numbers too and I have recently been diagnosed as dyslexic. I have lived with this condition for 31 years without being diagnosed because I simply felt that I was just dull and stupid. I've been mocked several times and laughed at. Right now, everything just seems so hard, my business is a flop, I have no means of income and my savings is dwindling.

I had a job doing data entry in the past but I made so many mistakes while entering in data that I truly thought I was bewitched. I have no marketable skill and I can't learn a new one because I find it difficult reading and understanding, when I have money I pay my tithe regularly but at this point I feel frustrated, I don't know how to handle this diagnoses and what to do next

Dear Giffty I have been through a number of similar circumstances. During these times it is important to do your best to encourage yourself in the Lord. I recommend this sermon and this article that have helped me in my life. God does seem to sometimes use tough circumstances to build our Faith. I would advise you to do your best to pray and try to be brave. I also have noticed that just when I think, I am at my breaking point God seems to come through!

I have no means of income and my savings is dwindling.

I'm praying for you right now.

I know absolutely there are jobs you can do. Find some place where you can start at the bottom and work your way up. If you have a hard time reading and understanding look for a job with hands on skills like stocking shelves, cleaning, product assembly, painting, etc. Look for a job where you learn by doing rather than reading.

I know you're in a difficult place right now, but don't give up, God is with you, keep going and you will find your way.

I have tried to get a new job but I haven't received any positive news for a while now
Try bugging them. Call back, remind them of who you are, ask them what your status is. Leave a contact number. That may help.

I could imagine that the strain on you could be quite big. I guess what you need to do is the following.

Php 4:6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

I think a good starting point is to pray for God to heal you, if however that does not eventuate, for God does not always heal us, pray for God's provision and peace. The bible says:

All things work together for the good of those who love God.

I have undiagnosed dyslexia. There's no question that if I went into be tested I would come back as dyslexic. My 12 year old has a formal diagnosis. You can over come it, I managed to get through college and law school with it. As for God abandoning you, the reality is that we are not promised good times here on Earth. Our focus has to be on God not on the cares of this world. I would submit that any bad thing that is happening to you right now is for your benefit as it should cause you to seek out God more and become more dependent on him.

I believe that God sees our heart, He hears our cries for mercy and grace and He responds. The fact that you are obedient in tithing and wanting to do the right thing is a great step in the right direction. I would encourage you to wake up daily and give your day, your efforts, your opportunities and your path of job seeking unto the Lord to ask Him to lead you and guide you to just the right opportunity.
I think many times we ask Him, but then we pull back and try to do it all in our own powers again. God made you in His image and He doesn't make mistakes. Use your gifts, talents and abilities to honor Him and He will prosper your ways. Try to think outside of the norm in applying for positions, seeks jobs where reading and numbers aren't the main part of the job. Physical jobs that focus on manual labor are great for that. Keep your chin up, try not to get discouraged and focus on what actions you can do, not on what you cannot and you'll get through it one day at a time.

God knows and God loves you. Dyslexia is indeed quite a challenge for some folks. I am a reading specialist and have seen some good success with a program called Project Light. I had a lady who had this problem and had gotten as far as to get her M S in Psychology but couldn't pass the comprehensive exams for certification. We worked with her on the Project Light program pre thinking skills and some other resources and she was able to pass the exams. I also know that potassium levels and blood sugar can increase the problems of a disorderly mind. I wish I could put my arms around you in a hug and we could work thru this but for now I am praying for God to lead you to the right resources. Please call this number 855-382-5433 and see if they can help you to find resources for help with Dyslexia. I also suggest you get a physical with complete blood work to make sure there are no other problems. You are special but this is not impossible and God has a plan. I pray you will find it. Thanks for sharing.
