Trump does not want to buy Greenland. His hyperbole is a way to get concessions. My main concern is that he ran on “common sense”, which to me meant common sense issues that impact the everyman. Greenland, Panama Canal, teasing about Canadian statehood: these are noisy proclamations that create dissonance for many who voted for him to fix the everyday issues. Too much of this grandstanding and he risks using up his political equity too quickly. Worse, progressives could siphon off some of the populist support that Trump rightly earned.

I wonder what the Greenlanders think.....and the Danish.....and the EU. Trump doesn't seem to be much of a team player with his allies.

I don't buy Trumps reasons for this. There is something about the Arctic region that they want. WHY ?
