  1. Welcome to Christian Forums, a forum to discuss Christianity in a friendly surrounding.

Your voice is missing! You will need to register to be able to join in fellowship with Christians all over the world.

We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!

  2. The forums in the Christian Congregations category are now open only to Christian members. Please review our current Faith Groups list for information on which faith groups are considered to be Christian faiths. Christian members please remember to read the Statement of Purpose threads for each forum within Christian Congregations before posting in the forum.
  3. Please note there is a new rule regarding the posting of videos. It reads, "Post a summary of the videos you post . An exception can be made for music videos.". Unless you are simply sharing music, please post a summary, or the gist, of the video you wish to share.
  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.

Why does Ken Ham think that the Universe is only 6,000 years old?

"We" do not know this. "We" just read it in a book.

Indeed. Do not exempt yourself from that statement. Reading something from a book does not make it fact.

That doesn't answer the question either.

Sure it does. I posted: "God lives in a world of Light/Energy. 1Ti 6:16 To change such energy into matter should be a simple exercise for the Supreme Intelligence of Creation. Amen? Jesus did the same when He changed air, dust and water BACK into energy when He fashioned the present Universe. Amen?"

God KNEW Billions of years ago what Albert Einstein discovered 100 years ago. That is WHY God changed some of the energy in His world into physical matter which Jesus used to cause the Big Bang of our Cosmos.

Ecc 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Ecc 1:10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.

Maybe he does it because he knows there is demand from some people to have someone tell them the earth is 6000 years old and he can make a living telling them that?

This does seem like the most probable reason given all other possibilities and the support or lack of support for each of them. It probably started with bad math or trusting some authority, but $176k is strong motivation to keep promoting this untenable idea.

Bishop usher had no knowledge of anything older than 6,000 years ago. So he simply starts his book at that point in time and has nothing to say about anything before that point in time.

Yes, 400 years ago, I am quite certain his knowledge of the world was limited.

We all enter this world with no knowledge. Everything we know is learned. Today I spent time talking to a young man getting ready to enter high school. We were explaining how much competition there is and how you have to work hard and take advanced classes to qualify for scholarships and the best universities. We told him to have fun and don't take it too serious. But take it serious enough so that you can get ahead. My son knows one girl that pretty much is going to graduate high school with enough college credit that she will be qualified to take master degree courses. No one has to push them. They decide on their own how ambitious to be and what they want to accomplish. I told his mom she can pretty much invest it all in his education because when they graduate they can make enough in a year to pay it all back.

Archbishop James Ussher made the SAME mistake the ancient Hebrews made. Both falsely supposed that the lineage from Adam to Jesus was literal, when in fact, it is the record of the "living" ancestors of the man Jesus Christ but does NOT list those who were NOT born again Spiritually. This means that there are gaps between believers which Ussher and the Hebrews didn't calculate. This is evident when you understand that the Jewish Calendar shows 2015 as the year 5775. Ussher just went along with the traditional religious view which is UnTrue scripturally, scientifically and historically. Amen?

What we read in a book written over 3,000 years ago is confirmed to be true by modern science today. We do come from the ground or the elements of the earth. We are a product of our environment or eco system. The DNA is in the bone marrow and you can take the DNA from the rib of a man to create a women.

The genealogists we have in the Bible are accurate. The Bishop had books other than the Bible that he used. Books that are no longer available to us now because all the information is contained in Bishop Ushers excellent book of the history of the nation of the people of Israel.

They are verified in Bishop Ushers book. You can sometimes find a copy of it on the internet.

I believe the Tree of Knowledge in the Garden consisted of manna that was off-limits to Adam & Eve at the time; and was there for the angels to eat.[VERSE=Psalms 78:23-25,KJV][VERSENUM]23[/VERSENUM] Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven, [VERSENUM]24[/VERSENUM] And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven.

[VERSENUM]25[/VERSENUM] Man did eat angels' food: he sent them meat to the full.[/VERSE]
