Why do you lack Assurance?

1 John 5:11-13 - And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.


Many churchgoers say they are not sure of their salvation. These are even more who do not admit it and there are others who bury themselves in meaningless pursuits. Why do they live without assurance? We must find the answer to this question.


1. It is because the saved do not know about life.
1) A saved person is one who has accepted Jesus with his heart and mind and confessed this with his mouth. John 1:12, Revelations 3:20
2) The Spirit works in the saved regardless of their own power. This is evidence of having received life. Romans 8:2, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 1 Corinthians 12:3
3) What is the condition of the one who does not have life?
(1) It is the same as Adam and Eve, Prior to salvation
who sinned and separated from God.
(2) Satan is in control of that spirit. John 8:44, Acts 10:38
(3) He may acquire much but has no peace. Matthew 11:28-29
(4) He may achieve success but troubles continue. Matthew 12:25
(5) His body is controlled and led by Satan unknowingly. Ephesians 2:2-3
(6) In time, even his body becomes sick. Acts 8:4-8
(7) His heart and mind will also suffer. Acts 16:16-18
(8) The day he leaves this world he will go to Hell. Luke 16:19-31

2. It is because the saved do not know about blessings.
1) They are delivered from sim. Ephesians 2:1
(1) Original sin
(2) Actual sins
(3) Ancestors’ sins
2) They are immediately freed from worldly burdens and Satan’s power. Ephesians 2:2
3) They are eternally freed from the power of Hell. Ephesians 2:6
4) They leave their testimony for the coming ages. Ephesians 2:7

3. It is because the saved do not know their privileges. Matthew 16:13-20
1) The privilege of proclaiming the Gospel is given only to the saints.
(1) He makes them as firm as a rock. Salvation
(2) He builds His church. Evangelism
2) The privilege of overcoming Satan’s power is given only the saints. Prayer
(1) Enter with a battle mindset. 1 Peter 5:8, James 4:7
(2) Persevere to the end. Luke 18:5
3) The privilege of answered prayer is given only to the saints.
(1) The worldly blessings the unsaved talk about come from Satan’s limited power
under God’s permissive will. Proverbs 16:4
(2) You must have the keys of the kingdom of heaven.

4. It is because the saved do not know how to live their lives.
1) Confirm the lifestyle of the unsaved.
2) Believers must receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit. John 14:26-27
(1) Discard your unbelief and worries. 1 Peter 5:7
(2) You will be led, when only Christ lives in you. Galatians 2:20
(3) Get rid of hidden motives. These motives bring failure after victory.
God’s Spirit is not deceived by man. Acts 5:1-10
3) If you want to be led by the Holy Spirit;
(1) Jesus Christ must be the center of your life. 2 Corinthians 5:17
(2) Prayer must be the highest priority in your life. Acts 16:13, Acts 16:16
(3) Proclamation of the Gospel must be your life’s everything. Acts 1:8

5. Healing – Problem of ancestor worship
1) Dead person’s wish. Luke 16:19-31
2) Ancestor worship is unbiblical, unscientific, primitive.
3) The spiritual problems that come from ancestor worship.
1 Corinthians 10:20, Matthew 12:43-45
