Why do some Christians think wearing make up and hair dye are sins? There is nothing in the Bible to say that altering one`s appearance is a sin?

Men, including most Christians, prefer women that look good. Makeup 'makes up' for the lack of natural beauty.
I think that a lot of makeup sold in stores are filled with stuff that women don't need to put on their face.
As far as it being a sin I don't know. If you are wearing makeup just to look good for others then I say yes because that leads(or had led)to pride.
I think that ultimately women wear makeup because it is a conventional part of our culture. Most women have a basic makeup scheme for everyday appearance and 'glam it up' for special occasions. We men 'improve' our appearance by growing beards and building muscles.

That cracked me up -- that and several others things written here. You people are cute!Actually it covers up ill-health - glamour is not beauty, it is a mask worn over reality.
If I were smart, and if I cared enough for those who see me about town, at work, and in worship, I would wear makeup. I should love humanity that much! But many mornings, I run out of the house, to these places, with not even a dash of lipstick. At least, I cover up my gray hair with dye and have since the day i realized that I looked dead with gray hair. But that's just me.

For me, it is that, indeed, it covers up ill-health. Yeah, according to the doctors, I am supposed to be dead, but so far, I think I still live! SO my wearing makeup, when I do, is a kindness. But makeup no longer covers up reality all that well.
Oh. And by the way, I wear biblically kosher makeup.

Lastly, if you don't find women extremely attractive even without make up, you need to get your eyes checked and quit ogling make-up clad women!
My 'ogling' days are over (I do 'appreciate 'though).

As far as ties go, i think they were invented by a vindictive man-hater. So I would suggest to you that in the Kingdom, no one wears ties.
I don't know any Christians who would think it was a sin but I guess if the changes were made to be more attractive to get sexual partners then I guess it would be deemed a problem.
It reminds me of a dog leash.
It's history is actually that of a phallic symbol. True.
Absolutely speaking, wearing make-up doesn't make you more attractive.
The effect is purely psychological after thousands of years of mental conditioning that wearing make up makes you look better.
The concept of beauty is purely subjective. Some men will find women who doesn't wear make-up more attractive.
I think you are conflating the terms 'attractive' and 'beauty'. Attraction is often quite subjective. Beauty is recognized more objectively. For example I have known many beautiful women (that everyone else agreed was beautiful).....that I was not attracted to in the least (except to briefly ogle). God says that the attraction between a man and a woman is a mystery, not explained by any societal criteria.
