Why do Christians have trouble with accepting Evolution?

Sorry, posted before I finished typing so I had to edit. Here are the differences: In the first creation story, humans are created after the other animals. In the second story, humans were created before the other animals. In the first creation story, the first man and woman were created simultaneously. In the second account, the man was created first, then the animals, then the woman from the man's rib.

That is interesting. IM not ready to say its a contradiction though. Chapter two doesnt seem to be referring to the creation itself, but perhaps is more about the creation of man and the garden, and the garden is separate from the earth itself. I'll need to think on this more.

Well, again, it doesn't sound like it was written as a timeline, like the first part is. The first part explains what God did exactly on each day. The second part just sounds like it mentions all God did with a few added details. I don't understand why Moses would write two different creation stories right after each other. It makes more sense to me that he just clarified some things. But it definitely doesn't sound like two different stories to me.

Ken Ham claims that its better understood in the original manuscripts, he claims that some misunderstanding is the result of translation. Im not sure if thats true, but this surely seems like a handful of theology here.

There aren't two creation stories.
How does Genesis 2 begin? "So the creation of the heavens and the earth and everything in them was completed." How, then, could it re-tell a creation account when creation was completed? Genesis 2 expounds on the creation of man, referencing things that had already been created. We learn that man was created in Genesis 1. We learn why in genesis 2.

Satan is referred to as lion and a serpent, his children are called dogs. False teachers are called wolves. Men are called fish. Christ is light, Satan is darkness. Water is both wrath and purification. Its all very confusing, and symbolic.

You are not reading it correctly, one speaks of created (bara) the other speaks of being formed (yatzar)....though two aspects of one process one precedes the other....as for the animals, one whole array are created before man and then the earth is said to bring forth creatures after its kinds (the original created species) and THEN after ADAM another set (probably those that could be domesticated) is formed...when created humankind is created simultaneously male and female but when they are formed they are formed one before the other...

In chapter 1 we have the world being emphasized

In chapter 2 it refers more to a specific place, which is the Garden.

You say another set of animals was created in the garden. That makes sense. That's where the serpent Satan appears. Everything went down hill after that

Moreover, where is Eden now? It has the tree of life, and is guarded by angels bearing flaming swords. Following Gods commands is a tree of life in Proverbs, and in obeying them we can have long life. It also mentions obeying the Mother and Father in Proverbs, i believe. In Genesis we see that a man shall leave his mother and father and be joined to his wife, and Paul says this a mystery concerning Christ and the Church.

Also, Paul talks about the different glory of the stars and the moon, and the birds and fish, and the spiritual body and natural body. This is a handful of theology for sure. Genesis and Revelation seem linked in a very intimate way.

1 Corinthians 15:37 When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. 38 But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body. 39 Not all flesh is the same: People have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another. 40 There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. 41 The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.

42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.

I would rather ponder this mystery than to study evolution theory. THis stuff is referring to spiritual things in my opinion, not carnal things. What hope is there in ToE? We came from prehistoric apes and will go to the Grave without hope.

But that ignores the plain meaning of the words which, in chapter 1, clearly provides that animals came before man. It does not say that some animals came before, others after.

Well, this Christian believes in evolution but will certainly not be going to the grave without hope.

This is interesting, i did a little research. In Mathew Jesus seems to quote both Chapter 1 and 2 together.

Genesis 2:24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Matthew 19:4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[a] 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

Hebrews mentions the seventh day rest (Genesis 1)

Paul's letters mention the man leaving his mother and father to join his wife (Genesis 2)

Christ mentions both Genesis 1 and 2 in Mathew 19:4-6

If you discount either Genesis 1 or 2 you must throw out The Gospels of Mathew and Mark

If you discount Genesis 1 you must discount Hebrews

If you discount Genesis 2 you must discount Paul's Epistles

You just cant discount either chapter, it doesnt work.
