if only he had listened to the people in his own administration pleading with him since december to take it seriously.
It's how you deal with a crisis that can define a presidency, and Trump failed.

To be fair, he also had to deal with the lurid conspiracy theories which spread through his Christian Right "base."

"Why did Trump lose": Election fraud.
60 cases, zero credible evidence presented. No evidence that this election was any more fraudulent than previous ones. And fraud is done by both parties.

Covid proved that Trump had no interest in nor competence at governing right when we needed some governing.

When he was elected I hoped the country would somehow skate through his 4 years without any major speedbumps because you could tell from his cabinet appointments and his own overall personal attitude that he was in it mainly for his own glory. Even the moderate R's were beginning to see that come election time.

"Why did Trump lose": Election fraud.
The right will continue to lose for as long as they refuse to accept any personal responsibility or even consider any self reflection about how they got here.

Why did Trump lose ?
Because he couldn't be bothered to care about Americans dying from COVID.

That's from his former campaign
manager, Brad Parscale ...

And his choice to get sucked into the conspiracy vortex himself ...

Mishandling the pandemic for sure. And also his malignant and pathologically narcissistic personality. Which was especially repellant to women voters. A high turnout of suburban, black, and college educated women was Joe Biden’s ticket to victory.

Not enough Republicans voted twice.

Fifty-nine court cases say that you are wrong. Nice try though.

You forgot to mention the recounts.
But the President was recorded trying to intimidate Raffensperger (R) into 'finding' votes in his favor. So there was attempted election fraud, but on the part of the incumbent.

Yes, even setting aside the pandemic, moderate R's were starting to see that Trump would tear the country apart if he thought it suited his own interests.

That’s the mark of a true loser - when they lose, they never consider it might be their fault or something they did. It’s always someone else’s fault.

That call also give an interesting insight into the presidents delusion, he claims to have won EVERY state.
