Our immune system is vitally important for our health. Yet Americans have terribly unhealthy immune systems. This knowledge should make it from the laboratory to the educational system and then into the general knowledge of the people shouldn't it? Thoughts?

Certainly. It should begin with an explanation of how the immune system evolved.

Why, if the evolution of the immune system is completed. Best to just tell them how to improve it's function.

Too much time is used in classrooms meeting the demands of various social activists?

How certain groups of people have sex, what is the history of pre-Columbian Indian tribes, and the imminent threat of the world coming to an end because of Global Warming, no...make that Cooling, no Warming, that's right...

...all have precedence over trivialities like knowledge of the immune system.

That would just confuse people.

"Why don't we educate people about a thing?"

*tries to educate people about that thing*

"This is just confusing! Stop educating them!"

You do realize that our kids are coming out of college more confused than ever. This is by design isn't it?

In what upside-down world is sex education, history and climate change science, demands of "social activists"?

No, I'm not aware of that. Do you have something to support this claim?

They seem certain of things for which there is no certainty.

You'd *think* this is how science-based education should work, wouldn't you?

Since you appear to be speaking in riddles, I think we're done here.

At any rate, you've answered your own question.

Shh! I think it is a tacit admission that sex education is evil, history is irrelevant and climate change science is a conspiracy. Don't stop him brandishing his true colours. It's good to recgonise the Emperor's clothes, no matter how unattractive the sight.

Wow. I am impressed that you misread not one but every one of the points in that post. Not just anyone would miss them all.

There's more to the world than one can see through a microscope. Educators should get out more.

Like most everything else, people do not want to be educated. They want their own views and opinions to be reinforce.

I agree. That's why we shouldn't try to save everyone from their own bad decisions. Let them learn the hard way, but make the better way known to them.

"A hard lesson is a good one".

So who does not know you are supposed to eat lots of vegetables and less meat, to sleep 6 to 8 hours a day, exercise, maintain healthy relationships and ditching TV while developing a meaningful reason for your existence?

So should you OWG. You would find yourself bumping into a great many educators.
