VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (ANS) -- The Muslim suicide bomber who struck an Iraqi elementary school this week reminded me of the Muslim bomber who literally crashed the wedding party at the Amman, Jordan Radisson Hotel last year. Both instances struck fear in every person with hope of life and love of children. Weddings are, after all, a celebration of life; a time when grandparents, immediate and extended family, and friends witness a man and woman exchanging pledges of support and fidelity. These pledges, which form a new entity, a new family, also provide the foundation upon which to build a new home for future children. Choosing to destroy a wedding party rather than a business meeting is, therefore, a particularly heinous act.

There are Christian suicide bombers...there must be some out there somewhere. It's purely a matter of random chance that all the suicide bombers so far in Iraq have been Muslims. I mean, it is possible, isn't it? You could flip a coin and have it come up heads a few hundred times in a row, couldn't you? Doesn't mean heads is any more likely than tails...

And so goes the calculus of political correctness.

Well there have been some Christian suicide bombers but not many because most of the regions in which suicide bombers have been active don't have large Christian populations with the exception of The Levant.

During the 80s when suicide bombings were being used to resist the Irsaelis in Lebanon there were a handful of Lebanese Christian suicide bombers. Not as many as there were Lebanese Muslim suicide bombers but a fair number.

According to the might that is Wikipedia, there are some Christian suicide attackers, and terrorism by so-called Christians is not uncommon:

"A less controversial example is from the time of the Crusades, when the Knights Templar destroyed one of their own ships[citation needed], killing 140 Christians in order to kill ten times as many Muslims. Another early example of suicide bombing occurred during the Belgian Revolution, when the Dutch Lieutenant Jan van Speijk detonated his own ship in the harbour of Antwerp to prevent being captured by the Belgians."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_attack

"One of the most widely-reported Christian terrorists is Eric Robert Rudolph, an American who committed a series of bombings across the southern United States in the 1990s, killing three people and injuring at least 150 others, because he believed that abortion and homosexuality were contrary to Christian doctrine. While he may have been associated with the Christian Identity movement, Rudolph himself has rejected the claims, saying that he is a Catholic,[3][4] and that he "prefers Nietzsche to the Bible"."

It doesn't fit much into their ideology (For some denominations it is actually a sin). For most Christians, and myself, a true martyr is someone who fights despite there being virtually zero chance of survival, not one who blows themselves up.

Two main reasons.

1- Because Christian nations can usually drop their bombs from the sky, no need to hand deliver them.

2- Much like the Japanese Kamikaze's of WWII, muslim suicide bombers realize that to inflict maximum damage to the enemy, they must act as the navigation system for their bomb. In these cultures self sacrifice to defeat an enemy is an honorable thing.

I assure you, if the muslim factions had access to stealth bombers you would see few, if any suicide bombers.

can't say that is true. the greatest martyrs of the faith did not fight at all. Jesus and Stephen did not raise a hand in their defense, but meerly asked God to forgive their killers.
perhaps there are fewer suicide bombers because we are taught to expect persecution and to love our enemies and turn our cheeks. suffering is something of an expectation in this lifetime.

It's a different world view. Suicide bombing of the Muslim persuasion see their actions as being 'good' and 'reedeming'. Not knowing much about Islam, I don't know if this belief is an actual teaching of Islam or a corruption of it. I do know that Christianity teaches against harming of innocents by any means.

Maybe they aren't in such a hurry to meet their creator, even though lots of Christians claim the opposite on various internet forums.

LOL! We're anxious to meet our Lord

Suicide bombing will ensure we don't get to :(

Christian nations? Don't think the Vatican has any way to drop bombs out of the sky (unless they get a bunch of Swiss guards to throw them w/sling shots ^_^ )

Seriously though, I dont' see the US or the UK as 'Christian nations' since they're ruled by 'secular' govts.
