I stopped making the traditional turkey and stuffing a few years ago. We just don't like it very much. So Thanksgiving is a day when we make some of our favorite foods instead - which means two breakfasts and a cheesecake. :)

Yes! I may just stop with turkey altogether. We are doing chicken and some traditional sides and an Armenian pumpkin!

It is political because it is being politically driven.
The thread is to discuss whether people are downsizing their traditional Thanksgiving gatherings because of COVID. COVID is not a political issue, it is a health issue.

This thread is not for discussing COVID's effect of the election, supposed "facts" that relatively few people have actually died of COVID, etc. We are simply discussing the upcoming holiday and the expected size of your gathering. If you cannot limit your discussion to that topic, don't post here.

We had our Thanksgiving about 5-6 weeks back and as a result, the few who did have gatherings are being blamed for covid getting totally out of hand here again. Severe restrictions have gone into place again yet oddly people can interact be it business or privately as long as it can be monitored electronically. You might want to think about pushing yourself closer to that sort of situation that may never leave and leave us similar to China.

Absolutely not! Do the research. The MSM is not using percentages to sell the Democrats Fear Mongering because the percentage of the Dead From Covid is less that one percent and rounds off to Zero Percent of the nation and is less than one percent of the infected. I am 75 and that with my Auto-Immune Disease, that puts me in the Most Affected Death Rate but I survived the three week ordeal. This is a Political Disease.

back in reality many hospitals are full and if anyone in your family get sick may not be able to take care of them. and that's BEFORE Christmas, or the hospitalizations from the last 2 weeks of 150+ cases a day show up.

If Joe Biden wins the Presidency, the virus will dramatically drop off the radar. Numbers of cases and deaths will plummet. Biden will take credit for whatever small bits of action he's involved in, and be hailed as the savior who "ended the pandemic".

If Trump wins the Presidency, the virus will be "worse than ever" and the numbers will explode, and the vaccine may even be "revealed" to be far less effective than previously thought.

Mark my words :) Revisit this post in about 3 months.

So vile and disgusting your saying this when he already won, and your currently in the worst out break yet, but keep pretending it's all a hoax about trump.

Sorry...just get so annoyed with those attacking the idea of being careful, rant oer.
No one's "attacking the idea of being careful". People are allowed to hold varying opinions.

God bless.

your entitled to your own opinions, not your facts. FACT us just broke 201k confirmed cases today, and nearly 2k deaths for second day in a row and could still be, and that's what you guys talking about.

And treating it as if in 3 months once vaccines are out that it's because we hate trump that deaths are going down. That was your line of nonsense about how it go away after the election. Trumps destroyed the us economy and lives, but you guys have to pretend it's all hatred of trump grow up.

Why are you lumping me in with "you guys"? How about just addressing me as an individual?

I don't know if you hate Trump or not. I don't presume to know your mind. Why do you presume to know mine?

Like I said, come back to my post in three months and see if I'm right. Or don't. I don't care.

The US economy is hardly 'destroyed'. I'm sure you're more than capable of researching information for yourself, but here's one of many articles about the issue: Bloomberg - Are you a robot?

You're throwing around so many assumptions and accusations and insults, it doesn't seem like trying to discuss anything with you is likely to be productive.

The OP has asked people not to make this political, so let's honor that request from here going forward. Agreed?

Good. Onward!

My family usually gets together for Thanksgiving--about 25 Aunts, Uncles, cousins, boyfriends and girlfriends--but not this year. We will each be staying home with just immediate family, all because of COVID.

Will others here be downsizing as well?
It seems there may be a lot who have a choice will be downsizing, but not because of covid.
And others are going on as usual, often with no problem, in any case.

I'm sorry you have misunderstood and seemingly cannot think beyond the stated in my post but I did not, nor will I discuss the election, farce or not, it is not my subject. The political truths of this Politically Envsioned Flu must, at some point be faced. The Election wil be over when the Colege votes whoever they vote to be the winner.

I expect this ¿Pandemic? to fade into the sunset now that the Democrat Socialist are in position to turn this Great Nation into the new version of Argentina.

Well at least they won't cancel Thankgiving even if Christmas is in doubt. We need a time of year to be thankful for the global agendists that wish to be our worldly saviours if they get their way at our expense. For that I would gladly downsize Thanksgiving to a non-event.

Again, this thread is not to discuss the “political truths” of the pandemic. It is only to discuss what people were planning on doing in terms of downsizing for Thanksgiving. How many people will be getting together, what will you be eating. That’s easy to figure out.

Except it's going up not down and doubtfully will before the vaccine.

On topic how did those find it that stayed home or had a smaller in house thanksgiving? It was easier for me last month due to most of family been away last few thanksgiving and when we had it, it tended to be a small, "lets order Thai." meal.
