A lot of people inspire me to be better than what I am. I have really been blessed to be able to see the impossible and have a heart to attempt the impossible. That verse, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Phil 4:13, is one of my life verses.
I think of Charlotte, who befriended my parents before I was born. It's because of her faithfulness that I had the opportunity to go to a Bible-believing church and that she has prayed for me my whole life, as well as for the rest of my family, who are all unsaved. Her faithful prayers have availed so much.
I think of the managers and co-workers I had at Intel who helped me rise above what I thought I could be as engineers. Their hard work, good work ethic, passion for their jobs was/is an inspiration.
My parents, despite not having much when they came to this country, have lived debt free, owned businesses that they were successful at building, and provided so well for their family. It shows that success is not dependent upon education, but upon your desire to succeed inspite of your circumstances.
The people that fought for my father to stay in America. He was to be deported back. A whole town rallied behind my dad to be naturalized in the U.S. Senator Carl Hayden intervened and petitioned for my dad's stay. I have had great opportunities to live in America. I'm grateful for that town and for Senator Hayden.
My husband for his faithfulness and love for me. It's not easy being married to someone like me. He believes in me, trusts in me, and allows me to be the very best I can be. Sometimes some of my hair brained schemes are out there, but he allows me to perform my experiments.
My children for their loving me just as I am. My little girl loves the sound of my voice. To her it's beautiful music, and though it is far from it, she loves hearing me sing. She thinks I'm so beautiful. She is a great encouragement. My son is a fighter just like me. When I look at both of my children, I see God's grace and mercy so greatly. That inspires me.
I have many friends who have done really cool things and are just awesome people. Some have bent over backwards to help in our times of need. Others accept what we have to offer. And, we are loved with all our eccentricities. There are so many stories here.
And, there are people I've never met whom greatly inspire me -- people who were underdogs or tremendous hardships but due to perseverence, hard work, not giving up, patience, time, and God blessing....they have achieved awesome things in life. I'm inspired by their passion to lead extraordinary lives, to have excellence in all they do.
A guy at one of the gyms I go to inspires me. He is a paraplegic, in his 30s. He is so faithful in his workouts. If he can be faithful, we have no excuse. Or, the older men I've seen for years, day in, day out working out. They inspire me with their persistent choice to have a great quality of life as they grow older. It's hard work, and they are doing it.
I do a lot of reading and I'm always reading about someone who has overcome great odds to get to where they are.
God is so incredibly amazing.
It isn't only people that inspire me, but God's beautiful creation of nature. Just watching a sunrise, or a sunset, a rainbow, rain falling from the sky -- those things inspire me. I am thankful for my sight.
When I hear beautiful music, read poetry, a testimony, I am thankful to have a heart, ears to hear, hands to touch, feet to walk/run, a tongue to taste, teeth to chew food, the ability to read.
When I read or hear about Christians in other parts of the world who are persecuted, executed, imprisoned for the cause of Christ, I am inspired by their testimonies.
I live nearly daily in inspiration.
