Hey,

just found an insteresting wikipedia Article concerning the famous serial "7th Heaven":

"
Church denomination

Eric is the pastor of the Glen Oak Community Church. This is revealed in episode two of season one when Eric is at the hospital talking to a nurse. It is also mentioned in an episode that was narrated by Simon in season eight.
In at least one episode, the Disciples of Christ denominational logo (St. Andrew cross and chalice) is displayed prominently on the front of the church's pulpit. Many of the church scenes were filmed at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of North Hollywood.[2] On the wall hanging left to the pulpit, the church's logo is present (blue logo with a cross/anchor symbol). The church (First Christian Church of North Hollywood), has noted that when the cast was on set, they often went into the church office to observe how church staff really act.[citation needed]
In an earlier online show guide from Warner Brothers Television, the back story for Eric Camden described him as being an Episcopal Priest leading, with his Bishop's permission, a non-denominational church." (7th Heaven - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Is this really possible that an Episcopolean priest allows one of his pastors to lead a non denominational Church?

Do you know to which denomination Eric Camden belongs to?
Is it explicetely mentioned which denomination it is?

I judged it to be United Methodist, considering the service, the way he vested, and the fact that his daughter followed him into the ministry. But I never noticed the Disciples' logo, etc. He could have been on loan and so vested in the manner of the church he was pastoring, but the style in question is typically United Methodist and not typical of non-denominational congregations.

I don't doubt that the setting was a real Disciples church, but the question was about the fictional Pastor Eric. The producers of the show had to decide how to depict the worship service, and what I was referring to was the way Eric wore a modified black graduation-type gown with a white stole and shirt and tie showing. This is common in UMC churches, while most Disciples ministers don't vest at all.

And Low Church Episcopalians wear a cassock and surplice OR, if they go with the black gown, it's a an unadorned one without the stole and certainly no V-neck that allows a white collar and tie to show. Of course, there are exceptions to all of this somewhere or other.
