Hello @StephenDiscipleofYHWH,

I noticed that your church denomination is that you are Apostolic.

Don't Apostolics believe that Jesus is the Father?

So then, if Jesus is the Father, the commandments of the Father are the commands of Jesus.

Jesus said, If you love me, obey my commandments.

Shouldn't you, as an Apostolic believer, obey the commandments of the One true and living God (Jesus, even the Father)?

As such, the commandments of the Father in the Old Testament would not be invalid.

The Father Commanded that the Law of Moses be fulfilled and completed so that we could not live by the law of sin and death(Mosaic Law) but by the Law of Christ after the promise of Faith given to Abraham. If the Mosaic Law is still in effect and those that keep it are still heirs then Christ died in vain and what he did on the cross is made void. I explained it all in great detail in the study.

1. A New covenant will be made:Jeremiah 31:31-34, Isaiah 28:10,13-19, Ezekiel 36:23-27,29-31
The Old Covenant will not stand:Isaiah 28:13-19
The New law will be written in their Hearts:Jeremiah 31:33-34, Ezekiel 36:26
On a Tried stone will this Covenant be Made:Isaiah 28:16
This New Covenant will give the People a New Spirit:Ezekiel 36:26-27
The New Covenant will be of the Promise of Faith:Isaiah 28:16
The Whole Covenant that was the Book of the Covenant would be Fulfilled:Isaiah 28:15,17

2. New Covenant is the Law of Liberty:James 1:,21,22,25; James 2:8,9,10,11,12
New Covenant is the Law of Life:Romans 8:2; Galatians 6:2; John 14:6
New Covenant is the Law of Righteousness:Romans 10:6; Romans 9:30
New Covenant is the Law of Salvation:Ephesians 2:8; Acts 4:12; Acts 28:28; Romans 1:16
New Covenant is the Law of Spirit:Romans 8:2; Romans 7:6,12,14,15,16,22,25; Romans
8:1,4,14; Romans 8:9,10,11,13,16
New covenant is the Law of Faith:Romans 3:21,22,24,25,26,27; Galatians 2:16; Hebrews 11;
Christ Fulfilled the Whole Law of the Covenant:Hebrews 7:18-19,22; Luke 24:25-27, 44-49;
Hebrews 9:14-15; Hebrews 8:4-13; Acts 13:38-41; Romans 10:4; Matt 5:17-20; John 19:30;
Hebrews 12:2;2; Timothy 3:15, Hebrews 8:6-13
The New Covenant is After the Circumcision of the Heart and Spirit:Romans 2:28-29; Acts
15:7-9; Romans 10:8; Colossians 2:11-13; Philippians 3:3
Kingdom was taken from the Old testament Jews and Given to us:Matt 21:43; Romans
10:19,20; Acts 28:25-28
The Law of the Faith is the Promise of Abraham:Hebrews 11;Galatians 3;Romans 4(Reference)

3. Every mention of the Mosaic law in the New testament by Christ and the Apostles is that is is going to be Completed(at the time of Christ's death and resurrection) or that it is already completed(After Christ's death and resurrection). Handwriting of Ordinances- Colossians 2:14; ,Hebrews 9:1; Hebrews 9:10,11,13,23-28;Ephesians 2:15
Law of Moses- Luke 24:25-27, 44-48; Acts 13:39; Acts 15:5; Acts 28:23; Mark 12:26-27

4. The Apostles and Christ all said to keep the Law Given to them by Christ/YHWH, that the law we now keep is not the Law of Moses but the Law of Christ. The Law delivered to us by Christ is unchanging just as Christ himself is unchanging.
Declared all the counsel of God(Acts 20:26-28)
Continued in Doctrine of the Apostles(Acts 2:42)
Hold Fast to the Doctrine(Titus 1:9)
Paul has Planted the word(2 Thess 3:6)
Hold Fast to the word and Tradtions we have been taught(2 Thess 2:14-17)
Doctrine of Christ(2 John 9-10)
Oberserve these things(2 Tim 5:21)
Be mindful of the words spoken by the prophets and the commandments of the Apostles and Christ(2 Peter 3:1-2, 15-18)
Keep the sound words given by Paul(1 Timohty 1:13-14)
Fully known the Doctrine, continue in things learned(2 Tim 3:10, 14-15)
Laws of God (Rom 13:2,9-10)
Stablish according to the Gospel and preaching of Christ(Romans 16:25-27)
Fully preached the Gospel of Christ(Romans 15:19,29)
Acknowledge things spoken as commandments of the Lord(1 Cor 14:37)
Gospel received by Revelation of Christ(Gal 1:6-12)
Christ the same today yesterday and tomorrow, so to is the word of God the same. (Hebrews 13:8-9)
Keep the Commandments given by Christ(John 14:21,23, Matt 28:20)
Holy word of God is of no private interpretation (2 Peter 1:20-21)

5. The Law was only given for a time and to provide a way for Christ to come and bring about the promise of Faith Given to Abraham.
1. Cursed is every man who does not follow every law written in the Book of the law of the
Covenant(Galatians 3:10,12) that is why no man is justified by the law(Galatians 3:11). The just shall live by faith(Galatians 3:11,7-9), the law of Moses is not of faith(Galatians 3:12) wherefore we shall not live by the law which is without(Galatians 3:10,11,12,13,25), but live by the law which is of faith(Galatians 3:7,9,11). The blessing of Abraham that was by faith(Galatians 3:6,7,8,9,14) was given to us by promise(Galatians 3:8,14,16,22) the covenant that was the law, which came 430 years after could not disannul this promise(Galatians 3:17) for if our inheritance were to come by the law it would have made the promise of none effect(Galatians 3:18), but in Christ we know that promise was confirmed(Galatians 3:13,14,16,17) being made a curse for us he has redeemed us from the law(Galatians 3:11,13). The law was given because of transgressions (Galatians 3:19), until the seed of promise which is the Lord(Galatians 3:14,16) would come as a mediator(Galatians 3:19) of that promise(Galatians 3:,8,14,16,22,29). The Law of Moses was not against the promises of God(Galatians 3:21) but life could not come by the law(Galatians 3:21) so that before faith came we were kept under the law shut up in our faith(Galatians 3:23) by the law were the means to bring us unto Christ(Galatians 3:24) so that after faith had come by the promise which was christ(Galatians 3:13,14,16,17,22,24,26,29) we were no longer to be kept under the schoolmaster which was the mosaic law(Galatians 3:25) but instead are after the promise of faith which is the law of faith(Galatians 3:7-9,11,24,25;Romans 3:27).

6. It is Plain to see that the Law of YHWH(YHWH's commandments) is the Law of Christ(Romans 8:2; Galatians 6:2; John 14:6). Though if you Disagree with what I have said I would love to be proven wrong but only with strong doctrine and not simply by the Hollow words of Men. Proving all things by the word of God alone.
1 Thess 5:21
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

2 timothy 3:16-17
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

2 timothy 4:1-2, 5
1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long
suffering and doctrine.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

1 Timothy 4:13
13Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

2 Timiothy 2:15
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

How does all of that apply to your understanding that Jesus is the Father?

If Jesus' commandments are not also the commandments of the Father (as found in the Old Testament); if the law of Christ does not also include the commandments of the Father (as found in the Old Testament) then how is Jesus the Father?

If in obeying the commandments of Jesus we are loving Him, how are we loving Him if we also disobey the commandments of the Father (as found in the Old Testament)? If we disobey the commandments of the Father, are we not also disobeying the commandments of Jesus? How then can we say that we love Jesus?

It was by the commandment of the Father number 1 that the old law be completed and pass away. Number 2 Yahshua(who is YHWH the Father) followed the Commandments of YHWH and completed the Law and instituted the New law of Christ, that we are now under. Yahshua followed the whole old testament law without sin and completed it finishing it. Yahshua and the Apostles all said that we are only now to keep the law of Christ, that we not now to follow the law of Moses because if we do then Christ died in vain and his death on the Cross is made void if the Law still is in place.

It's all in the study if you actually take the time to hear what I have presented to you out, then you will see what I have told you is the Truth. The Old testament law is finished by the blood of Christ.

I believe that. But I have a question for you. In a post that does not require much study on our part (i.e. say it to us in your own words with fewer scriptures for us to look up, or else actually quote the scriptures that you want us to pay attention to), what is it that you would say that "the law of Christ" entails?

What does Christ command? And what commandments in the Old Testament no longer apply?

In a post that does not require much study on our part (i.e. say it to us in your own words with fewer scriptures for us to look up, or else actually quote the scriptures that you want us to pay attention to), what is it that you would say that "the law of Christ" entails?

What does Christ command? And what commandments in the Old Testament no longer apply?
Every verse included pertains to the study but you do not have to look up every verse, only read as many verses as you need to in order to understand the truth. If you get it at the first verse you do not have to read any further, if not keep reading verses until you understand.
1. The Law of Christ is everything Christ commanded us to do when he spoke in parable that only the Apostles( and now us) could understand
Matt 13:
9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

this is what Christ means when he says we are to keep his commandments, we are to keep the New covenant law given to him by the Father YHWH
John 14:21,23
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Matt 28:20
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

John 15:7
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

2. 2nd part of the Law we are to keep is everything told to us by the Apostles, we are to keep the commandments given to us by them(you may read as many or as few as you need to understand the truth)
Declared all the counsel of God(Acts 20:26-28)
Continued in Doctrine of the Apostles(Acts 2:42)

Laws of God (Rom 13:2,9-10)
Stablish according to the Gospel and preaching of Christ(Romans 16:25-27)
Fully preached the Gospel of Christ(Romans 15:19,29)
Acknowledge things spoken as commandments of the Lord(1 Cor 14:37)
Gospel received by Revelation of Christ(Gal 1:6-12)

3. lastly we are to follow the Moral laws that were written on stone by the Finger of YHWH Twice but are now written not on tablets of stone but on our hearts of Flesh after the circumcision of the Heart.(Read as many or as few as you need to understand the Truth)

5. The Book of the Covenant(Civil, Ceremonial, Dietary)(Exodus 34:27; Exodus 24:7; 2 Kings 23:21; 2 Kings 23:2) was only for a time, that is why he said there was going to be a new covenant(Jeremiah 31:31-34, Isaiah 28:10,13-19, Ezekiel 36:23-27,29-31). That is why the book of law, written by the hand of Moses(Exodus 34:27; Nehemiah 9:13,14) was not placed inside the ark of the Covenant with the ten commandments that were written in stone by the finger of God Twice (Deuteronomy 10:2-5;Exodus 25:16; Exodus 31:16-18; Exodus 34:1), but were instead placed by the side of the ark( Deut 31:26) signifying that the book of law(the book of the covenant) was only for a time. None of the Old Mosaic covenant(Civil, Dietary, Ceremonial) is still in place.

But concerning this, it seems that Jesus Himself taught that the Old Testament commandments concerning food laws and the sabbath are now invalid. For He Himself broke the sabbath according to John's testimony (John 5:18); and He also proclaimed on more than one occasion that all foods are now clean (Mark 7:14-19, Luke 11:41, Romans 14:14).

If the food is clean, then it can be eaten without it being wrong. I think Jesus didn’t broke the law in that. It is still not right to eat unclean food. But if food is made clean, it is not a problem. And it is not against the Law, if God declares through Jesus that something is clean.

And Jesus didn’t break the Shabbat rule. Working (doing your day job) was not allowed but doing good is always allowed and was never forbidden.

In Romans 13:9 it is written that every commandment in scripture is summed up in the statement, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." In other words, if you love your neighbor, you will not violate any of the moral commandments in the law.

That's true but before that comes the greatest commandment
Matt 22:37-40
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

These two laws apply to the whole Law of Christ not just the Moral portion.

Yet Romans 13:9 declares that loving neighbor as self is the fulfilling of even the Old Testament laws of scripture (it is not only referring to the law of Christ). Read, think, and meditate on Matthew 5:17-20.

If you break the least of these commandments (the Old Testament law) and teach men so, you will be called least in the kingdom of heaven.

Men who do not love God and who do not love Jesus and who do not love their neighbor and who do not love their own lives as God says to (not in the flesh) / (we hate the world, we hate our own lives as God says to in line with His Word)
those without love as God says
break the least of these commandments every day
and every other commandment every day as well, as written .....

Those who love as God says (obedient, willing joyfully choosing God's Way)
do not break the least of these commandments every day
nor every other commandment every day.

Romans 13:9 speaks of the Moral law that is still in effect under the law of Christ.
He said that while under the Old testament law, had he preached against the law of Moses and taught men so(outside of the parables that were shut up in their understanding) he would not have been able to live a sinless life. For the same reason he said we are to obey those that sit in Moses seat, because they were under the mosaic law.
Matt 23:1-3
1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
2 Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

Until the Whole mosaic law, every jot and tittle, was passed away none of the law can be. Heaven and Earth will pass away before one of the Mosaic laws are completed without the rest.
Matt 5:17-19
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

That is why he said those who break the commandments would be considered least in the kingdom of heaven, because the law was not yet fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

But now we know that every Jot and tittle has been completed in Christ.
Hebrews 7:18-19,22; Luke 24:25-27, 44-49;Hebrews 9:14-15; Hebrews 8:4-13; Acts 13:38-41; Romans 10:4; Matt 5:17-20; John 19:30; Hebrews 12:2;2; Timothy 3:15, Hebrews 8:6-13
Handwriting of Ordinances- Colossians 2:14; ,Hebrews 9:1; Hebrews 9:10,11,13,23-28;
Ephesians 2:15
Law of Moses- Luke 24:25-27, 44-48; Acts 13:39; Acts 15:5; Acts 28:23; Mark 12:26-27

That is the true meaning of the passages in Matt 5:17-19

Every passage that speaks of the law having passed away is speaking of the fact that we are forgiven as believers through faith in the blood of Christ (Romans 5:1, Romans 5:9, Romans 3:25); and therefore our relationship to the law has changed. It no longer condemns us from the outside (Romans 6:14, Romans 7:4, Galatians 2:19, Romans 7:6, Galatians 5:18, Galatians 5:22-23, Ephesians 2:15-16, Colossians 2:14, Hebrews 7:18-19), but it has begun to govern us from the inside (Hebrews 8:10, Hebrews 10:16, Jeremiah 31:33, Romans 8:4-7).

The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts (Romans 5:5) and this is the fulfilling of the law (Romans 13:8-10) within us (Romans 8:4).

The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts (Romans 5:5) and this is the fulfilling of the law (Romans 13:8-10) within us (Romans 8:4).
Yes our relationship with the Law of Moses has changed. It has waxed old and passed away
Hebrews 8:6-12
6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Hebrews 10:9,16
9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

Romans 8-Law of the Spirit, has made us free from the Law of Sin and Death
8. The Law of the covenant was weak by the flesh(Romans 8:3,1) and they that keep the law of
the covenant are carnally minded(Romans 8:5,6,7), in so much that they are an eminity against
God and cannot please him(Romans 8:6,7,8) for to be after the Flesh and the law of the Flesh is
Death(the law of the Covenant is death)(Romans 8:6,13). The Law of the spirit of Life that is
Christ has made us free from the Law of sin and death(Law of the Covenant which is of the
Flesh)(Romans 8:2) that we who are of the Spirit walk not after the Flesh(Law of the Covenant)
but after the spirit(Romans 8:1,4,14) are given a new spiritual mind not of the Flesh(Romans
8:5) in like manner also we are dead to Flesh by Christ, being raised up again in the Spirit(Romans 8:9,10,11,13,16,23) so that we will never again be put under the bondage that is in the law of the covenant(Galatians 5), nor yet even be put under the Spirit of Bondage that is by the Mosaic law(Romans 8:12,15,21). It is this Newness of Spirit, that comes not by the Law of the Covenant which is after the flesh(Romans 8:1,3,6,13; Romans 7:17,18,19,21,23,24,25), that we become the Children of God and Joint Heirs with Christ(Romans 7:16,17,21,23;Galatians 4:30) so we are now saved by the Hope and Promise of Faith which is Christ(Romans 8:24,25).

Jeremiah 31:31-34
31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:

33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Those who are freed from sin are no Longer subject to the Law of the Covenant(Romans 6:14,15) but are now under grace(Romans 6:14,15). Now that we are made free from sin and the Law of Sin and Death(Romans 6:2,6,7,11,12,14,15,18,22; Romans 8:2) we should not again Yield ourselves to being servants of sin(Romans 6:16,13,20), but instead become the servants of righteousness(Romans 6:13,17,18,19,22) whose end is everlasting Life Through Christ(Romans 6:22,23).

It's always good to read the whole chapter to get the full picture brother.

We are no longer a part of it. For if we were still under it from within or from without then Nothing Christ did mattered(Romans 4:14,15). The Law written our hearts is the Moral Law and the Law of Christ after the Circumcision of the heart and spirit. The Law of the Flesh(Mosaic law) was not of the Spirit(Galatians 4:23,24,25,28,29; Romans 7:17,18,19,21,23,24,25; Galatians 6:7,8,12,13) and is not a part of the Promise of Faith given to Abraham and it never will be(Galatians 3:12; Romans 3:28).

I would emphasize Hebrews 8:10, Hebrews 10:16, and Jeremiah 31:33 in my doctrine instead of the verses that you emphasized, based on what it clearly says to me in Matthew 5:17-20. The context never has the effect of nullifying the reality of the verses quoted, impaho.

The old covenant is indeed waxing old and ready to vanish away; however the fact that the law is written on our hearts and in our minds is an integral part of the new covenant according to these passages.

The law written in our heart is not the law that passed away, the covenant that was the book of the Covenant(Law of Moses) has been done away, it is the New law that has been written in our hearts.

Well brother if you believe so strongly against everything in the study I have shown you and against everything in the past few responses to you. Then I don't see you accepting the truth. I have to end the discussion here as it will not bear any Good fruit, only strife of words and vain disputation.

I love you brother, may you someday see the truth and light of the Lord's word.

To be honest I haven't looked extensively at everything you have presented; that would entail a lot of page-flipping in my Bible and I don't have the time for that (as I spend a very extensive amount of time reading straight through entire books of the Bible).

It should be clear from Jeremiah 31:33 that the law being spoken of there and in the verses quoted from it (Hebrews 8:10 and Hebrews 10:16) is the Old Covenant law; at the time that Jeremiah 31:33 was written there was no such thing presented as "the law of Christ".

I have a question for you: In your theology is a person forgiven when he violates the "law of Christ"?

Is he forgiven in the same way that he is forgiven of disobeying the Old Testament law?

If the Old Testament law is done away with in that we are forgiven; does the fact that there is a New Testament law mean that we are not forgiven of violating it in that it is not done away with?

If we are under a New Testament law called the "law of Christ" and are no longer under the Old Testament law, does this mean that if we violate the New Testament law we are not forgiven, since the New Testament law is not done away with?

What is the nature of the Old Testament being done away with? Is it simply no longer in effect for anyone? Does it not still apply as a definer of sin for all of us (Romans 3:20, 1 John 3:4)?

If only the New Testament law applies as a definer of sin, why is the Old Testament law done away with? Is not the Old Testament law done away with in that we are forgiven through the blood of Jesus, and therefore the Old Testament no longer condemns us if we are in Christ?

However, is it not the same with the New Testament requirements? Are we not also forgiven through the blood of Christ if we violate requirements laid out in the New Testament?

I would appreciate it if you would answer these questions for me. I am not subverted and condemned of myself, but I have these questions for you and I hope that you will answer them in such a way as not to require a lot of page-flipping in my Bible.

You might consider the possibility that you could be wrong, and continue the discussion for the sake of knowing the truth.
