Generally speaking, most Bible-believing Christians believe the Noah Flood account the existence of Ark to be literally true.

edit to add:btw, I bought an illustrated children's Bible by Victoria Parker in a "bargain bin" for 5 bucks some years back. I rather enjoyed looking thru it at the well made pictures that were illustrated in it.

Of course, if you're thinking globally, but that's just silly. Noah didn't even know the American continent existed, so I'm pretty sure he didn't cruise over to pick up some diamond back rattlers or grizzly bears. Course if you use your noggin and realize it was a local flood, two of every known animal in the region is much more understandable.

Not so if you consider the fact that many animal species are genetic mutations of a core species (much like humans - from African descent to take on different appearances - Asian, European, etc). A lion and tiger would be two species, however now there are so many different variations (Siberian Tiger, Sumatran Tiger, etc.). The same goes for our domesticated cats. The Savannah is a mix of a wild cat and a domesticated cat. The Scottish fold developed out of a genetic mutation. The Exotic is a cross between a Persian and American Shorthair.

You are basically describing breeds. The amount of genetic diversity we see today would require some kind of massive hyper-evolution after the ark landed. This hyper-evolution is coincidentally also physically impossible.
