i had been an atheist for a long time... then became a christian at the worst time in my life.. but recently i have been losing faith. but i tell myself to remember that bad time that god helped me...

what would be some good parts of the bible to read to renew my faith etc.. if you know what i mean

ive never read the entire new testament, just matthew, luke, john, revelation and a bit of acts... but i think i may go back and read those again seeing as i have forgotten them..

Umm. Wrong question. Yes it is good to read your Bible. As a believer for over 30 years I can vouche for that.
However, may I encourage you to seek the Author? He can/will answer you. Your faith will/should grow as you get to know Christ better each day. Never mind about failing, He expects you to do that and I can guarentee you will.
In Christ,
Stan

Speak with God, He has given you the holy spirit to guide you in all things. Proverbs 2:1-6, "My son, if you accept My words and store up My commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom, and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. The truth will not be hidden, but develope that relationship with God that whatsoever you ask of Him he hears you and responds with His will. "John 16:13-14, "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to Me by taking from what is Mine and make it known to you." God knows our cry, and has already responded. Psalm 119:19, NIV. "I am a stranger on earth; do not hide Your commands from me."

God Bless.

Staying in the word is critical to maintaining ones faith. So,read your Bible.Try and read 5 chapters a day, starting in Matt: and through Revelation. That would be like today read Matt:1 through 5.Do this during a quiet time in your day, when you won't be disturbed.Read through the new testament three times, then read the old. You will see how they tie together. You will see prophesies of Jesus in the old, fulfilled in the new.If one has faith they will notice a (voice) as one reads. This is the holy spirit teaching you the meaning. The more you stay in the word the more understanding you will have.Your faith will increase.

There is certainly nothing better than talking to God and reading his Word. In addition to that, though, I have found that sometimes others have a unique perspective on things that can really help me focus ideologically and give me strength and inspiration. I am reading a book right now that is really helping me past some of the everyday challenges, and giving me places to focus my attention in the Bible and in my prayer. Again, nothing beats the real thing. But sometimes our minds get cluttered, and we need inspiration from others around us. I highly recommend "Searching for God Knows What" by Donald Miller.

When I get into hard times, I find getting into praise and worship is also a wonderful thing to do. As we praise God, and take the focus off anything else, He renews us, strengthens us and gives us that peace that surpasses all understanding.

When I am having a hard time I try to make a mental list of all the ways God has touched my life. How he has helped me and how he has guided me. He has protected me all along. Sometimes I just need to remember specific times. If you look really hard at your life you will see all the wonderful things he has done. You are still alive right?? That is because God has allowed it for a reason! What is your reason???

I suggest reading Psalms 22 1-31 then Mark 15:24-35

Look for the simularities, when you have seen the simularties there are many more, get your self a good concordense and start looking searching, get software and search and read look for echos things that are the same in the old and new testment.

I agree with the many people who say to read Romans, and if you want to be reminded of the great things God does, maybe Psalms, I don't know, I haven't read much of it at all. But praying is the best way to get closer to God, because that's how you ask for the answers.
