When we receive Christ as Saviour and Lord where do our sins go to?

We teamed up with Faith Counseling. Can they help you today?

Study the earthly sanctuary to understand this process... we are told the earthly is a pattern of the Heavenly. Christ is our High Priest ministering on behalf of repented sinners, presenting His blood before the alter of incense and now doing the work of atonement to cleanse the Sanctuary.

As far as the east's from the west, separated by an expanse, so far has God removed our sins from us, and so also their penalty. The pictures show God's power.

2 Pet 1:5-9 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith virtue; and to virtue, knowledge; 6and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8For if you possess these qualities and continue to grow in them, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9But whoever lacks these traits is nearsighted to the point of blindness, having FORGOTTEN THAT HE HAS BEEN CLEANSED FROM HIS PAST SINS.

What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather, has discovered? 2If Abraham was indeed justified by works, he had something to boast about, but not before God. 3For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”a

4Now the wages of the worker are not credited as a gift, but as an obligation. 5However, to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness. 6And David speaks likewise of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

7“Blessed are those whose lawless acts are forgiven, whose sins are covered. 8Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute (reckon, place to one's account) sin.

Thankyou all for your helpful comments. It is good to know that Christ bore away our sins on His body on the cross and they are far far away!

The shedding of sins happens at water baptism. When you are baptized into the death of Christ and risen with him. Your old man with his body of sins is crucified with Christ. Then leaving your old man dead and being in the person of Christ you do the work of God. This is the circumcision of Christ, which can only be performed by one with the Spirit of Christ.

Amen! Baptism in water is symbolic of new life in Christ when our sins were washed away! 'Buried with Christ' and raised with Him too. What is there left for me to do? Simply to cease from struggling and strife, simply to 'walk in newness of life' (T Ryder)
