He is fond of using this "authoritative NT teaching", whenever he disagrees with you

And he seems to reading some one and wish he would explain who that is ?

My authoritative teaching ism in post #54 , the word of God and no one , disputed those verses !!

Hebrews 6:1
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ,
let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works,
and of faith toward God,

Dan,
you believe this, so please tell me
why you cannot achieve perfection within
the doctrine of Christ? What in the doctrine of Christ
is less than perfect?

And who was Hebrews written to ,?

The Body of Christ ?

Or written to Israel ?

If you say written to the BOC , then the problems multiple .

And I did and do not know what happened to it as my blood sugar dropped to 60 , sorry .

No one keeping the LAW will ever go on to perfection as the Greek word for perfection means , ( full growth , maturity , completion ).

Hebrews was written ti Jews and not to the B O C .

Perfection will come in the Millennium and not until then as Israel becomes kings and priests as written in Rev 1:6 and in Ex 19:6 .

The Book of Hebrews was written to Christians from Jewish backgrounds.

They are no different from the group of about 3,000 from "all the house of Israel" in Acts chapter 2, who accepted Christ on the Day of Pentecost. The Gentiles were not grafted into the Church until several years later.

Act 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Act 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Act 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Act 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
Act 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
