The service of the house of the Lord was set in order.
2 Chronicles 29:36 Then Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced that God had prepared the people, since the events took place suddenly.
“God had prepared the people”.
Psalm 110:2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
“The events took place suddenly.” Suddenly [H6597] pithome>
from [H6621] pethah=sudden, literally, upon opening the eyes
Isaiah 29:5 Moreover the multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones
shall be as chaff that passes away: yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly.
When things in life happen “all of a sudden”, the Lord is swifter!
Proverbs 3:25 Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes;
26 For the Lord will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught.
In Christ is deliverance from the cruelties of time and chance
Ecclesiastes 9:11 I returned and saw under the sun that—The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise,
Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all.
12 For man also does not know his time: Like fish taken in a cruel net, Like birds caught in a snare, So the sons of men are snared in an evil time,
When it falls suddenly upon them.
The Lord may be long suffering, but when He acts, events occur in “the blink of an eye”.
Isaiah 48:3 I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them;
I did them, suddenly they came to pass.
He will come again to “His Temple”.
Malachi 3:1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek,
shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.
Our Deliverer Will Come Suddenly, in an Instant
1 Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible,
and we shall be changed.
Therefore we do not lose heart
Luke 18:1-8 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, saying: There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, Get justice for me from my adversary. And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
Then the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?
For what we seek is eternal
2 Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,
18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary,
but the things which are not seen are eternal.
