I've oft time said (and I'm paraphrasing myself)

The problem with the pro-life movement and Catholics generally is that they are so focused on abortion that they will sell out anything, anyone, anywhere to try to end it. Nothing and no one matter except unborn babies, everything else is a far second.

Well, I was wrong.

This Senate "health care" bill, which is really a Trillion dollar tax cut/wealth transfer to 400 people (the .01%) is, apparently, several steps over the line.

Yes it will unfund Planned Parenthood. Yes it ensures that women can and will be denied access to reproductive health care. Yes it ensures employers can opt out of birth control in insurance polices.

But the ISCCB has had enough. After 7 years of backing the GOP against the provisions of ACA they are putting health care for 22 million people over the defunding of PP and controlling women's health care options.

And they are doing it in a way that has been described as "scathing"

I'm also impressed.

(I don' t think this is political because it involves bishops and they set Church policy but I could be wrong, so do what you have to O great mods)
