What's up with the French?

Today's news says there are thousands protesting against Israel in France.

How can they be so confused? Arafat wants to kill all the Jews. Sharon wants to protect them. What's so confusing about that?

I just don't get it! ...unless God has truly hardened their hearts and blinded their eyes.

I wonder if we're going to see more protests here? Probably. Yesterday, is was a couple of thousand in NY -- can you believe it, NY protesting on the side of the terrorists???

The whole world has it's shirt on backwards.

anti -semitism has always been socially acceptable until very recently. old habits die hard. i was taught you couldn t trust Jews by remarks i heard as a child but not to actively hate them. Do you know some people blame the Jews for causing WWII ?

I like the story I heard about two men who were running from that black cloud and one fell and hurt his ankle and the other helped him to safety. One was Jew and the other was an Arab.

I alsoheard of a true story from WWII that a nazi officer refused a blood transfusion because the GI medic couldn t guarentee it didn t come from a Jew. The officer died.

Just look at the French during WWII. That explains everything. Europe is extremely liberal and living almost in a post Christian era. Despite the polls that says the U.S. is a predominately Christian nation, I think we are traveling down the same road, we're just a little farther behind.

Throughout history it looks like the French just flip a coin to decide which side they are on.

Unfortunately, there will always be people who hate Jews. I'm not saying that the French backing Palestine is anti-sematic, it's just that they see it as "hey, the Israelites 'stole' the land from the Palestinians." Which is totally bogus since that land has always and will always belong to the decendents of Ishmael and Israel.

What chaps me is that the French have stolen land from cultures for hundreds of years on almost every continent, and never even offered reparations. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I see a double standard here.

The French (particularly the left wing of politics) love the under-dog; of course they see the PLO as the underdog. They probably also equate the occupation of the Gaza Strip by the IDF with the Nazi occupation of France in WWII.

My French history lecturer said that some of the Catholic Priest still preach Christians should bear a grudge against the Jews because they crucified Christ.

There's always one thing that concerns me greatly when this subject comes up and it is this -anyone who challenges the Israeli position or in any way appears to sympathise with the Palestinians is automatically labeled "Jew hating Anti-semites" -this is IMO so wrong. I for one believe Israel should stop the illegal occupation of the Palestinian territories. However I in no way condone the suicide bombers etc -this also is an incredible evil.

The equation is rather simple:

I don not agree with the tactics Israel has been using but whoever fights against them fights against God and I know whose side i want to be on. i think all the Arab countries should pool some land and give it to the palesenians rather then trying to take israels

To say that fighting against Israel is to be fighting against God is a gross misrepresentation of Scripture IMO. Under the Old Covenant this was true, however in Christ i.e., in the New Covenant the only people particular to God are those who are "born from above" -there is no ethicity involved any longer.

Rom 2:28-29 (NKJV) 28For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; 29but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.

John 8:39 (NKJV) 39They answered and said to Him, "Abraham is our father." Jesus said to them, "If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham.

This was once said about Israel:

Ex 19:3-6 (NKJV) 3And Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain, saying, "Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel: 4"You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to Myself. 5Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. 6And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel."


This is now true of the people of God -believers:

1 Peter 2:8-10 (NKJV) 8and "A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense." They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed. 9But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

See the difference Christ makes -since the New Covenant ALL believers are His special possession and land no longer is an issue.

Can anyone think of any other group of people that has remained a distinct group of people while being bannished from their homeland for almost 2000 years which then returns to their homeland?

American isn't even 250 years old and I have no idea where my ancestors came from!!
