  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

what's the worst persecution you as a Christian have suffered?

At our last neighborhood, we were threatened by one of the neighbors. There was another Christian family that he also threatened. While he never said that was the reason he hated us, it seemed to be the fact we were Christians because we were the only ones he threatened in such a way. Anyway, both families (ours and theirs) ended up moving away because he was so crazy. He was a violent man and has done time in prison too.

Also, lies have been quite harmful in the recent past for us. Very harmful. :(

I haven't been as strong in my faith in the past as I am now, so I have very little persecution other than being scoffed at by a friend and joked at by a potential employer, though I'm not sure if that was actually an attack on my faith. I do hope to one day be counted worthy enough to expirence real persecution, but that would probably pale in comparison to what Christians in other countries are suffering now, especially in the Eastern hemisphere.
